sunnyday Posted May 1 Author Posted May 1 Good morning - as zigzag said - 'tis Friday! Busy week here - 'operation sort out' at my dear late MIL's house is almost complete - we have done all that we can manage and now a house clearance company are booked for next Thursday/Friday they are eye wateringly expensive but there you go, it is what it is - one bonus is that they clean the house when they have finished - which saves me the job! Operation sort out here - hmmm - what can I say - next week possibly/maybe 🤦♀️🤣 Today will find me out in the garden - very much my happy place. Nothing much planned for Saturday/Sunday - will just take it as it comes... On Monday - Mr S, eldest son and youngest grandson are off fishing - grandson's request - wonder how he will last before getting bored! Sure he will love the ducks, geese and moorhens on the lake if nothing else. Wishing you all a great weekend full of things and people that you enjoy x 2 Quote
louby loo Posted May 1 Posted May 1 I can't believe how fast the weeks are going! Usual weekly stuff going on. Just back from a nice lunch with Andy after a hosiptal eye check up for him. Out Sunday... might be a bbq- might not! Such weird weather at the moment- very hot here Monday, then freezing Tuesday 🤷♀️😂 Hope everyone has a good weekend whatever they are doing. Cx 1 1 Quote
Froglet Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Pretty quiet week here, lots of crochet which has meant two visits to the yarn shop - I'm trying not to buy yarn unless I need it so am waiting until I finish a ball before I buy a new one. I have a doll that comes from my old school that I've been asked to make clothes for. I've just crocheted it a cardigan and then will go looking through my fabric collection to see what else I might make. I have enjoyed several breakfasts and lunches outside - it's way too hot for tea time and it's making me ponder what to plant. I've been thrilled with my gardening experiments so far. Have a lovely weekend everyone! PS. Carrot cake is on next week's baking plan... 1 2 Quote

We had a lovely doggy walk, just my daughter and I with them. Nice phone call from my son when we were having a picnic, watching the steam engines nipping back and forth along the NYMR. Just one person noticeably missing, or it would have been perfect. 3 1 Quote

sunnyday Posted May 15 Author Posted May 15 Good morning - 'tis Friday Lovely to see the sun this morning - horrible weather here most of the week... We are just off to meet yet another Estate Agent - this will be number 3 - one for Probate valuation and two for Sales appraisal... Not sure what we are doing this weekend Have a good one! x 1 1 Quote
Froglet Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Happy Friday! I wasn't well last week so never got around to posting. Grim, cold weather here too although the sun did come out yesterday and I went to Calke for a walk and a look at the stunning wisteria in the walled garden. I'm pondering what to tackle in the spare room next. My brother asked this week if I would like to have my niece to stay during the summer holidays so I need somewhere to put her! It will be the first time she's ever stayed over with me and apparently she cheered when he told her I'd said yes! I'm not working today but have told my job share that I'll go in at the end of the day to help set up the classroom ready for next week. I'm finding it hard to get my head around the classroom areas/set up and although I don't intend to make a habit of it I think it will help me to learn and understand what's going on. Continuous provision has changed since I was teaching in Foundation! Other than that no particular plans for the weekend although I really should try to do some gardening - I'm very excited because my alliums are on the point of flowering and I've never grown them before. Have a good weekend everyone! 2 1 Quote
louby loo Posted May 15 Posted May 15 I almost forgot it's Friday today! Had a really busy week doing nothing very much 😳....... at the moment I would like to sleep for the whole weekend. Hope everyone is well. x 3 Quote
zigzag Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Such changeable weather this week, been so cold at times as well. Roll on some settled warm, sunny weather. Husband has finally built our garden fence to replace the one we lost in storm Gorreti. So looking forward to getting all my pots back in place and some nice new climbing plants and new trellis for it. Husband has gone out on the boat so hoping it will be fresh pollack for tea tonight, I’m off to do a couple of changeovers this morning, hoping they are nice ones! Have a lovely weekend all. Xx Sleeping for the weekend sounds damn good! I seem to wake up from a nights sleep tired at the moment. Think my HRT needs increasing. 2 1 Quote
SueFinanceManager Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Hello all Wow you lot have been busy! Zigzag - your holiday pics brought back happy memories for me having been to Barcelona, Amalfi coast and Rome. I have been a bit quiet as I am stuck at home for the last 3 weeks with a fractured ankle - took on an uneven paving slab and I lost. So annoying, just walking to FSF HQ and 150 yards from the front door foot went over and ended up with a fractured fibula - very fed up. Have a hate hate relationship with my stupid walking boot but could be worse, I could be in plaster. Luckily enough I can work from home but am missing my normal life lol - no dog walking, golfing and generally being up and out and about. At least the sun is shining and the forecast for Sussex this weekend is good....like really hot so a nice bank holiday weekend for a change. Have fun whatever you all end up doing on your 2 wonderful working feet/ankles 🤣 Sue xxx Quote

sunnyday Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago Good morning - 'tis Friday Woah - incredibly busy week here - how did I ever find time to work?! 🤣 A week full of Estate Agents, Solicitors, Photographers and (much nicer) youngest grandchildren...on the EA, Solicitors bit I have been thinking - 'Mr S is very, very lucky to have his very own PA' 🤣 Today - I am off doing some more 'serious' plant buying and then need to be back here to take delivery of granddog, she will be with us until Monday, she is no trouble and I am looking forward to having her 🐶 Are we all ready for a heatwave? Have a good BH weekend all x 1 Quote
Froglet Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Oh Sue, how frustrating! I am hoping it heals as quickly as it can. Methinks 'Tis Friday (although not entirely sure - I have been very confused about days this week). I've had a busy one with supply on 4 days rather than 3 and to be honest am ready for a rest. If the sun doesn't get too hot today I am going to be out in the garden pulling up bindweed 😮💨 and hopefully planting some new things too. I have various house DIY jobs I need to do as well. My sister and niece are coming up to see mum and dad this weekend so hopefully I will see them too. Apart from that, nothing special planned for the break. Have a good weekend all! 1 1 Quote
