zigzag Posted October 26 Posted October 26 Happy birthday Froglet, hope you have a lovely day. 🎂🥳 xx 1 Quote
Froglet Posted October 26 Posted October 26 Thank you all! This morning was one of those bright autumn days and I went for a walk by Cromford canal and then a pootle round the various shops in the old mill. This afternoon I am snuggled with my crochet and a cup of tea! It's lovely! 3 1 Quote
sunnyday Posted October 31 Author Posted October 31 Good morning - 'tis Friday A much quieter week here - that's not a complaint! Hope everyone is okay? Hoping for lots of ghosties, witches and other spooky visitors this evening - I suspect that Mr S is eyeing up the chocolate and hoping there is plenty left over for him! Have a good weekend all x 1 Quote
louby loo Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Afternoon all. Very quiet week here too- and I'm not compaining either. I did have big plans for a massive declutter this half-term, but it hasn't happened! Mr S needs to come here 👻🎃..... I have sweets ready- but no-one ever knocks as it's a tad too creepy down our end of the lane once it gets dark 😂 Sleepover with the GD tomorrow here which I'm locking forward to.... I just wonder what games I'm expected to play this time 🙄 Have a good weekend all. Quote
Froglet Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Pretty quiet week for me too! Met up with family for tea and a scone and apart from that have been snuggled up working on my new blanket! Made myself an autumn wreath from the ivy in my garden and my collectings from my walks and am pretty chuffed with the result. I have closed my curtains and am hoping not to have any spooky visitors! Have a good weekend! 1 Quote
Froglet Posted November 7 Posted November 7 Good afternoon! 'Tis Friday! Sunnyday - hope you're ok and Louby - I hope that you survived the games with your granddaughter. It's a very grey and drizzly day here but I am making English muffins which is a satisfyingly peaceful task (and a tasty one!). Went to see The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe at the theatre this week which was fantastic, craft fair and cinema this weekend and more general peacefulness. Take care all, have a lovely weekend. 1 Quote
louby loo Posted November 7 Posted November 7 Afternoon Froglet 😊 No sunnyday yet 😮.... hope everthing is ok with you. Pretty quite for me this week. I've had my flu jab this morning, and I'm feeling a little tired now. I have the GC for the afternoon tomorrow but that's about it for this weekend. Hope all is well this people. x Quote
sunnyday Posted November 7 Author Posted November 7 Hi young Froglet and louby I'm fine, thanks for asking, not sure whether people want to chat anymore which is a bit of a shame, I really don't want to lose touch with my 'Friday friends' ☹️ Youngest grandson's birthday tomorrow so looking forward to a family get together after his 'party with friends'. Take care all and happy weekend x 2 Quote
sunnyday Posted 19 hours ago Author Posted 19 hours ago Hiya - too late to say Good morning but 'tis Friday! Here I am back to flog a dead horse 🤦♀️🤣 Hope everyone is well. Has been a very busy week here so now enjoying a chilled day and hoping for a quiet weekend. Take care all x 1 Quote
Froglet Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Not quite a dead horse! At least not, me, I love the Friday check in and catch ups. Glad you're enjoying a chilled day and a quiet weekend. I've had a middling busy week - went to a crochet workshop last night for a new technique which I've not done before. It was a little 'brainachey' but very satisfying. This morning I indulged myself and finished crocheting my 'Winter season blanket', I was on the final round of the border. It's in the machine right now for a quick wash to ease out all the wobbles in it. I'm really pleased - lots of new stitches and techniques and patterns in it. I need to ponder what my next project will be. I'm still trying to use up yarn that I bought for specific patterns but am also feeling the temptation to start something completely new. I'm contemplating some socks with cows on. My lovely mum is no longer quite herself but very much enjoys talking to the cows that spend much of the year in the field at the bottom of their garden and think she'd like the socks as a present. I'm also making my first every batch of mincemeat, writing the menu plan for next week and general pootling whilst I hide from the wind and rain. When I first left school I told myself I'd try not to make excuses not to go out for a walk but I think I might give in to the weather today! Take care everyone, have a good weekend. 1 Quote
sunnyday Posted 18 hours ago Author Posted 18 hours ago Hiya young Froglet I'm pleased that you still enjoy our Friday catch ups - me too ❤️ Are you going to spoil us with a photo of your winter season blanket? Hope so 🤞 I'm so sorry to hear that your mum is not doing so well these days, sure that she would love some 'cow socks' xxx Are you watching the 'Game of Wool' programme - it's all very strange but also quite entertaining... Froglet Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I will definitely share my blanket once it’s dry and lovely. I have been watching the Game of Wool. I know that reviews have been quite mixed but I’m enjoying it. I like looking to see what knit/crochet garments the contestants are wearing as well as their creations in the game. I do think it needs a little while to settle in and find its feet though - for all involved, the second episode was definitely better than the first. 1 Quote

louby loo Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Obvioulsy I don't mean we all have to 'flog' sunnyday!!!!!! Quote
SueFinanceManager Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Hi sunnyday I think you should just pop in here and share whenever you feel like it and not worry too much about it being a Friday maybe? I always read all the news you guys share but sometimes just don't reply because I am busy. Things here at FSF HQ have been mentally busy but fun. We have some new staff joining our team on the technical side as well as the product support team so we have had a bit of move around. As I may have told you we are lucky enough to bring our dogs to work.....it has been quite amusing watching our dogs head into our original office and not our new one. I have only moved one room along a corridor but that has not stopped Billy keep going next door 🤣 I am off up North next Friday to see my boys (son & grandson) and really looking forward to that. William turned 4 in September and is so funny and full of beans. He is really sporty and we must be the only adults trying to encourage him to do some screen time just so he takes a time out from whatever ball game he is playing. Mind you I am going with my husband and when 'Papa' is present I may as well not be there....he adores Papa 🥰 I am watching the Game of Wool and find it weird and wonderful. I love Holger (think that is how it is spent) the German tailor from Saville Row. He is so wonderfully grumpy 😆 Quiet weekend for me....a bit of pottering and tidying up and dog walking so hoping the rain stays away at least while I am walking. Have fun whatever you guys get up to and sending you all big virtual hugs. Sue xx Quote
