louby loo Posted October 3 Posted October 3 Morning all, Sunnyday, I too am amazed at peoples generosity during these hard times - our's raised a whopping £1500 this year! (very round figure so I guessing someone rounded it up 😍) Cold, wet and getting windy here today .... so me and a poorly cat are going to snuggle up with a blanket and book for a few hours I think. Might even have a hot chocolate! 2 Quote

My poorly cat (18 yrs old currently with a bad eye) has ditched me and found herself a cosy bed- I feel I have not yet been forgiven for the trip to the vets yesterday! 1 Quote
Froglet Posted October 3 Posted October 3 Those coffee mornings did so well! Great news. I'm snuggled in front of the fire. I have been sounded out about doing some baking for a pumpkin trail which was flattering and a great excuse to spend ages browsing baking websites! Very wet here today too! Stay safe everyone. 2 Quote
zigzag Posted Sunday at 09:06 Posted Sunday at 09:06 A bit late to the register this week! The storm wasn’t too bad down here thank goodness. I’m absolutely loving being a Nana, my heart just swells to twice the size when I look at him. Can’t wait for the fun adventures that we will share in the future. just off to work, then roast with all the family. Have a lovely Sunday all. 2 Quote
sunnyday Posted Sunday at 10:53 Author Posted Sunday at 10:53 I thought that I might share my little adventure: Yesterday morning I was pegging out washing - the wind was so strong that I was starting to worry that I might end up in the 'Land of Oz' 🤣 when I heard 'c-r-a-c-k' that unmistakeable sound of a tree breaking... It was our neighbour's Sumac tree - it has broken and in turn crashed through our fence... Quick call to neighbour - he immediately cut the tree (good job we are country folk and fully equipped with chainsaws!) - fence is currently 'propped up' - no sign of him this morning but surely he must realise that it is down to him to repair the fence...I do hope so 2 Quote
Froglet Posted Sunday at 12:43 Posted Sunday at 12:43 Oh goodness Sunnyday, glad you weren't re-enacting the Wicked Witch's role under the tree! We have lots of mess on the street as one of the (many) skips on it was full including some bits of loft insulation, cardboard and the odd bit of lino which have blow everywhere. 1 Quote
sunnyday Posted 8 hours ago Author Posted 8 hours ago Good morning - 'tis Friday (again!) How is everyone? I have had a busy week and quite looking forward to a (hopefully) quieter weekend. My neighbour really needs to get on with the fence repairs as I am on granddog sitting duties for half-term week - hmmm - it's a delicate balance between wanting to be calm and reasonable and being 'walked all over' - hey ho if that's all I have to worry about I am very lucky! Hope that the weekend is kind to all x Quote
Froglet Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Good morning! Pretty quiet week here. Went to see some beautiful Diwali decorations yesterday and have finished a pair of socks. When I first got into sock knitting I bough loads of yarn that was pretty and people have given me some over the years. I've decided I need to use it up before I buy any more but want to try and come up with some different patterns using it. Other than that I'm still working my way through the various craft kits I've been given over the years which is fun. Next week is much busier - a couple of nights out with friends and I've been asked to bake a load of pumpkin/autumn themed things for a pumpkin trail so I'm really enjoying looking for ideas for that. Have a good weekend all. 1 Quote

louby loo Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Afternoon all. I did start to post this mroning - but got distracted. Any I feel I need to post this photo to make myself accountable to my slight addiction ... This is just the tip of the iceberg.... Quote
