Coloured pencils!

Recommended Posts

Can anyone recommend good, strong coloured, pencils? Most of them, I find, are not very satisfactory for light pressure and am fed up with expensive felt tips being dipped in glue!

these are the ones we use...but we don't order them from amazon...we get them through consortium (I have often had to wash them/have found them in the sand pit etc and they still work!)

We need to replenish our stock. I think they have ended up included in junk modelling creations and in envelopes posted to goodness know where.

I have had our swiss Caran D'Ache ones for years, but we also had some Ferby ones which have held up really well. I dont spend a fortune on felt tipped pens, I get ours from Tesco's now, they are not too bad, and I limit the colour range I put out, don't give them all of them in one go.

We use Rahmquist - available through their reps; I haven't spotted them in catalogues. A big outlay, but the ones we bought five years ago are still going strong so we're very pleased.

Also have some Ferby which are as good I think, and found some Lyra chunky ones at the back of a cupboard the other day which are proving popular with the people who have trouble applying pressure.

They now make the triangular Lyra Ferby with a coloured case. The wooden ones are nicer (I think) but tricky to see which colour is which - purple, navy, green, brown and black look (almost) the same. Though I just found a wooden one with the writing on the case in colour instead of black.
