tish501 Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Hi thinking of taking on recently retired gardener for the nursery.....part-time and sure he will need a crb but need confirmation from you lovely forum members .Thanks Quote
diesel10 Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Yes, I did one for ours, but she does work in the garden when the children are out there. And of course they always want to help. Quote
narnia Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Always best to err on the side of caution.Yes, CRB 1 Quote

LKeyteach Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 I took on gardener recently. Gave him details to complete his DBS. He answered no to question bout being involved in activities with children and was charged £11. Great I thought, only to get call from capita to say he needed enhanced DBS! Oh well. Quote
lashes2508 Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Ours comes in when children are not there. No DBS needed 1 Quote
Panders Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Ours is employed by the hall owners, but they come before the children arrive, very occasionally still strimming an area which the children don't have access to - we can still here them, but haven't asked hall owners if they are DBS checked - seriously doubt it!!! lsp Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 If you decide not to go down the DBS route, maybe you could carry out a risk assessment so that you have covered your reasons and actions if asked by Ofsted?? 1 Quote
