BeanyBird
Hi Please can anyone help me......I currently offer morning sessions at my pre-school and I now need to open afternoons. I will be offering a lunch club in between the sessions. What I need to know is do I have to inform Ofsted that I am increasing my sessions/hours or can I just do it? I have searched and searched for the Ofsted documentation and cannot find anything on the internet Any advice please BeanyBird

barcombeplaygroup
We changed our hours to offer afternoons and lunch club a couple of years ago. I ran Ofsted and they just told me to send the changed times in an email to them but that we could start the change of hours straight away. Obviously things may have changed since then.
Mouseketeer
Hi. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/335504/EYFS_framework_from_1_September_2014__with_clarification_note.pdf 3.77 of the framework covers changes that you must notify ofsted about, it says • any proposal to change the hours during which childcare is provided; or to provide overnight care;

LKeyteach
Have spoken to ofsted a few weeks ago. Yes you can go ahead and do additional hours but let them know in writing. There are 3 conditions You are not open more than 10 hours Or not more than 45 weeks and sorry can't remember 3rd. But good luck with extra hours.

playgroup1
Yes tell ofsted by phone and in writing and keep a copy of the letter. Make sure they change the hours on the information available to inspectors. At our last inspection they queried that I hadn't told them about us adding in extra hours but I had a letter to show them. And when we changed again recently I pestered them to make sure they added it to their information.
