thumperrabbit Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Are general committee members applying to be a Registered individual ?? Quote
thumperrabbit Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Phew, thanks Woodlands - think my committee member is getting there :1b 1 Quote
woodlands1997 Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 I had this the other day, phoned ofsted and got cut off three times so gave up, tweeted them - no response, emailed - still no response so guessed! Then found this document online and typically I had chosen the wrong thing, had a panic thinking capita wouldn't change and I'd have to pay again but thankfully they were very helpful and changed it for us on the phone ? 1 Quote
Rea Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Yea you can't do ey2 until you have DBS number, mine took two weeks to come through recently! I'd checks annoying too as they want the form scanned and emailed along with the photo of your id eg passport! All takes time, hope you get it sorted soon. I do wish ofsted would have a range of music rather than repeating the same one over and over :-)We've just done 4 EY2s, when it came to the part asking if a DBS had been done you can click no and continue. I phoned Ofsted as we were doing ours, she said as the setting isn't new, the system allows DBS to be done afterwards. It should be a lot clearer though. Quote
woodlands1997 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 But it wouldn't let you submit the ey2 form until the DBS number has been inputted?x Quote
Rea Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Ours did, it was when we got to that bit I phoned Ofsted, she said we could do it because the system accepted the setting wasnt new. all 4 went through without a problem. Quote
lynned55 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Ooh I would like to scream!! I do wish they would all say the same thing. I was told couldn't do EY2 forms without a DBS number Quote
woodlands1997 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I've been told by ofsted we can't and you can't physically submit on the website without a number, you just get error messages. We are re registering though so don't know if that's different as it's a new registration rather than adding to existing? Who knows!!! Try and submit without lynned55 it'll soon tell you no if you're not allowed!!!! Quote
Rea Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Reviving this...after my previous comments I now find I need to do more EY2s but cant for the life of me remember how I did them. Any tips??? Where do I start? Quote
Cait Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 It wasn't easy to find on the Ofsted site! I think I went to somewhere that looked like I was setting up a new provision. I know it did a search on their site for ey2 and found it once, but not the next time. They certainly don't make it easy! They should have a dedicated space for something like that, with all the information we need, about who needs one, how to do it, what we need to do next etc. Quote
woodlands1997 Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Log into ofsted online (whoever needs to complete the ey2) then it's online applications and you can choose ey2 from a list of forms! Then you link to provision with your urn! Hope that helps x Quote
Rea Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Thank you Its such a ridiculous system isnt it? 2 Quote
lynned55 Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Ridiculous isnt the word Really!! I have tried and tried to submit EY2 without a DBS number and it wont do it- just keep getting error messages- so not sure what the person who spoke to you was talking about. Some advice now please- When you have all done yours FOR COMMITTEE have you scanned in the ID verification forms? I did three (and paid for them) late July and none have come back yet. However I honestly dont remember sending them or printing anything off for ID. I thought i had just done it all online? Of course i could have completely forgotten forgotten it- as it was the end of term. But I cant find any record of it at all on my pc or in my emails. I would have had to have taken the forms home to scan. This whole thing is driving me mad. I rang DBS people today -who of course couldnt tell me if they had received anything (data protection) tried to get through to Capita today and gave up in the end as all they could do was offer me various numbers to press on the phone. So I'm now left thinking that I've messed things up totally and not sent them stuff I should have done. It was so much easier back in January- when I did a staff member, just a DBS and through in just over couple of weeks. I suspect that is because Ofsted weren't involved at all. Can anyone shed any light on this for me? the process I mean, not whether I've messed up!! Oh and I noticed that the update service is no longer a choice As from September it is now compulsory Quote
Cait Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 We did one the other day without a DBS check, you just get an email asking you to do one when you have submitted the EY2 Quote

Oh and I noticed that the update service is no longer a choice As from September it is now compulsory I got mine done this month, I took my info for checking to my verifier and then scanned stuff and emailed it to them. I expected it would take ages at this time of year, but it's done and on its way apparently. I suspect that if you haven't had emails telling you what to do next, then they are waiting for you to do something. Have you got a reference number for what you've submitted so far? Quote
woodlands1997 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I have never been able to do without DBS, it won't let you submit it and ofsted confirmed that with me so not sure how others are managing!! With the icf id form you scan and email the form to capita just the filled in pages now, you no longer have to send the copies Of documents! If they have done their online DBS and capita haven't received the icf form they do send the applicant a reminder x Quote
woodlands1997 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 And yes from 1st September all new applicants have to be part of update service x Quote
lynned55 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Thanks ladies. Well I dont know what happened back in July then, but no one has been contacted. As for EY2- like woodlands 1997 says it wont let me submit the form without a number- so really not sure how others are doing it. Quote
Fredbear Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I am sure when I last did my committee we were given a Ofsted number to put in for us to complete. I will check when I go to work today. Sounds like I am going to have fun when I try to complete them after our AGM in November. 1 Quote
eyfs1966 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 This issue of the number is ringing some bells for me. i seem to recall that it asks for the number and if you don't put one in it gives you a pop up warning box telling you to do so. However, I am sure you can just hit "next" and continue. Worth a try anyway, but I do remember having to make about 4 calls to Ofsted about this. The system is so not user friendly!! Quote
lynned55 Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Capita ask for a reference which is ofsteda. EY2 asks have you done a dbs- tick no and it wont let you submit. Really it wont I have tried it umpteen times this week, Quote
Rea Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 We did it easily too Unfortunately it all went pear shaped after that, 1 came back five, 1 unsuitable because she hasn't done a DBS, 1 still waiting for anything, 1 not known to them! Quote
thumperrabbit Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 4 months later we are still trying to do our first committee DBS, I've tried asking Early years advisor for help they haven't a clue. Not got a Scooby Doo Clue, just fumbling along in the dark  Quote
Rea Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 I found the DBS quite easy, I did one for myself so I could give steps to the committee (still waiting for them to do it though!) I typed out the steps for the EY2s if thats any help EY2 step by step guide.docx 3 Quote
Cait Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 (edited) Thanks Rea. There's a lot of personal info on that by the way, you happy that it goes out? Edit to add -what time did you get up this morning!!!!! Edited September 26, 2014 by Cait Quote
Rea Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 I'm not worried by the personal info Cait, its public anyway if you know where to look I was up very early as I am most mornings, wake up, cup of tea, back to bed. 1 Quote
thumperrabbit Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Do committee members get an actual certificate these days? As the registered person, do I get anything from the DBS to say they've passed?! Quote
Cait Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Yes they get a certificate and no, we don't get told anything! 1 Quote
