klc106 Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Hi I got given these from a friend at school. She was given them by another teacher at a meeting she attended last week.

sjmum Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Many thanks from me too for sharing Klc. It has been interesting to see the 'child speak' version of some of the more ambiguous statements! 1
Daisyjose Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Hi everyone - loving the child speak - will be a lot of help - Devonmaid please could you send me the link as well - we have a lot of new staff starting in September and these will be very helpful. Thanks everyone
dreamgirl Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 I have just looked on my school tracking system which offers examples of DM statements in 'child speak'. This is how it is interpreted: 'I am able to correctly use the many new words and sound I have learnt' eMe too please Devonmaid. Would be very grateful. Thanks xxxxx

Mouseketeer Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 I'd love a peek to :-) Does anyone use the 'what to expect when' (intended for parents) publication in their setting ? that is also much more user friendly and written as "I can....", "you might have noticed....", I'm thinking about using it in setting from Sept to give parents the prime areas/expected age band as a starting point. 1
Guest Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 What you might see a parents guide is in the 4children website - have never been very successful when posting a link!!

thumperrabbit Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 We love the 'What to expect when' document in fact it comes in very useful when trying to decipher some of the dev matters statements! 2
Mouseketeer Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 I have a link to it for parents and include the link in our prospectus, but thinking I may might print (well make into a printable version) and give to parents to tell us what they think their chn can do, our HVs use it with new parents so they should already be familiar. 2
