Stargrower
I know this has been asked a while ago, but I couldn't find the thread. Does Every Child Matters still exist? Do we still use the five outcomes? (Be Healthy, Stay Safe etc) I have been looking at some safeguarding info from our local authority which says "Practitioners should be familiar with and to the Every Child Matters five priority outcomes." and it made me question whether Every Child Matters is still current. Didn't the coalition government and our friend Mr Gove drop it?
Wildflowers
Even if Every Child Matters is no longer referred to as a term, its content is still valid - that may be what your LA means.(Or they haven't updated their documents...)
Sue R
Oh, ABSOLUTELY! Never mind it is rarely referred to, it completely underpins all practice at the moment.
Stargrower
Yes, I agree the outcomes are valid (and I guess, always will be) but I wondered if the ECM 'framework' (or whatever it is/was called) still exists. Do Ofsted still inspect against it? Just wanting to keep up-to-date. ..no easy task! :1b
louby loo
I had this very same question lined up for one of advisors that was supposed to visit last week- only she cancelled.
Wildflowers
No, not any more.
catma
Not really. The framework and all content was removed from the DfE website by the coalition Govt. Inspection frameworks do not refer to it at all. It doesn't get used as a reference point now. Cx
