Rea Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 When I click notifications, I get the list of them, but cant open the thread. Still cant open any topics although I can see the threads. Blogs and gallery are working fine, got in and out of chat ok and can read statue updates. Messenger works ok
Rea Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I've done something. I went to client area and clicked full version and now my FSF looks exactly the same as it always did but it works
Rea Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 And that means...? Control, alt, delete or switch it off at the wall and start again, usually works
TapestryMatt Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 The absolute proven best way to fix all technology is to unplug it from the wall, wait 6-12 hours with an occasional glass of red wine. 3
Steve Posted September 26, 2012 Author Posted September 26, 2012 Uh-oh? louby lou says she's back to normal.
Rea Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Thanks chaps, I can do red wine, so I am now a techno wiz  2
sunnyday Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 The absolute proven best way to fix all technology is to unplug it from the wall, wait 6-12 hours with an occasional glass of red wine. Would it still work with several large gin and tonics......or does it have to be red wine? 1
TapestryMatt Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Would it still work with several large gin and tonics......or does it have to be red wine? I can't say that I've tried, but why not give it a go and report back on your findings? It might be best to wait until the next day for that report, though. 4
Rea Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I have a techie question, if I connect my phone (nokia 800) to my notebook, would the 3Gness of the phone be able to provide internet access for the notebook? Like a dongle? Maybe
Guest Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Can't wait for Monday morning....at what time? as I'm 3 hours ahead, does it mean that I will be first in line

sunnyday Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I'll try it with Rum and coke if thats ok. We could do a survey, make it professional Oh we could - now how do we set up a 'poll'? 1
louby loo Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Uh-oh? louby lou says she's back to normal. But I shall still try the wine test ::1a 1
TapestryMatt Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I have a techie question, if I connect my phone (nokia 800) to my notebook, would the 3Gness of the phone be able to provide internet access for the notebook? Like a dongle? Maybe  Sadly it depends. Some mobile phone providers will allow it, some will not. O2 actually charge extra for this 'feature' on the iPhone. You'd also want to watch your bandwidth. Most mobile phones are only allowed somewhere between 250mb - 1GB a month and you'd easily exceed that using the normal internet.
Rea Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I'm sorry, I dont know if thats a yes or no, obviously I havent drunk enough red wine to be a real techno wiz. Shall I just try it, or phone Orange and see what they say? I havent got an iphone if that makes any difference

You should also find out what your bandwidth allowance is too.
Steve Posted September 26, 2012 Author Posted September 26, 2012 The technical term for it is 'tethered' Rea. You could ask them if your mobile contract allows tethering of a phone with a laptop. If your laptop has bluetooth you can usually do it that way.
Froglet Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Not being a drinker I can confirm that a large bar of chocolate and mug of tea while switched off is usually pretty effective! 3
SueFinanceManager Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 A muggle between two wizards Thank you You better be drinking butterbeer then
SueFinanceManager Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Don't know where you buy it but here is the recipe
Sue R Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 You can buy it at the Harry Potter Studio Tour, Leavesden!! It's actually a great experience.... err - should I be admitting that? 3
Steve Posted September 27, 2012 Author Posted September 27, 2012 Sorry if this is obvious, but you can also buy it at the Three Broomsticks pub in Hogsmeade. 7
