Guest Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Ready to start with the new eyfs paperwork etc. in Sept? I have a few new children so have been doing their initial obs using the new framework, will be putting a note into the existing lj's and swap over to the new style in a couple of weeks. In our July newsletters I told the parents about the changes and attached a sheet with the 7 areas of development and what they mean to their child. I think I'm doing it right, how is everyone else doing the change-over?
Cait Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Hi kazz1972 I'm preschool so still ploughing through a sea of paperwork - planning, prospectus update, policy update, sef update etc all for the new EYFS as well as Learning folder paperwork for 45 children I think I'm on the home stretch, but just when I think I can see daylight I remember something else! Welcome to the forum, and I hope you enjoy all the browsing! Look forward to hearing more from you in the future
sunnyday Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Hi and welcome! :1b Yep - as cait said - loads to do - think I've possibly 'broken the back' of it but there is always more! Oh and while I'm 'working' it's the perfect excuse to keep popping on here!

currycraver Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 great to see where you are at. I have been stressing out about my to do list. I just need to take it one step at a time. have Ofsted this year too
suebear Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Hi Kazz, good luck with it all. I don't think how I actually do anything will be much different but it's just all the editing of paperwork that my printer is loving - or it would be if I actually put paper and new ink in it!
Guest Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Yesterday while I had a quiet moment haha lol... sorry  I printed out new short obs / long obs / progress charts / sharing progress sheets with other settings and summery sheets. I have ordered a new magnetic board for the children to self register (the old one was velcro and didn't last) and I've ordered new display paper and borders .... The summer holidays have been quieter than term time so am trying to 'refresh' while I can without it impinging too much on my evenings and weekends
Smiles Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 We currently use Velcro board for the children to self register . We have the childrens name and photo with Velcro on the back. Silly question I know but how do you dio you do yours with anmahnectic board? smiles
Cait Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Hi smiles, I use a magnetic whiteboard. We have small self adhesive magnets stuck on the back of a wallet sized laminated name card. The magnets came from Baker Ross, or Yellow Moon. 1
louby loo Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 We brought some magnetic tape on a roll, on a dispenser like a mini sellotape. 1
Smiles Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Thankyou both. I'm having to do new names so may try magnetic fr a change. Just looked the boards . smiles
