currycraver Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I have just received a quote for nursery insurance which i think is quite overpriced from dot to dot. I have used morton michel in the past. Can anyone share any other insurers with me.Thanks in advance Quote
Guest Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 We use PLA. Every few years I get horrified at cost and trawl around looking for a comparison quote, which is a job in itself! We seem to end up back there as, even with membership included, they come in slightly cheaper than everyone else. It does annoy me though when my home insurance has had claims on it and yet remained fairly stable or even reduced over the last few years, yet we have never claimed on the playschool insurance and it just keeps creeping up. I guess it is a lack of competition. Oh and just to add they aren't always that quick at sending out renewal notices of certificates of insurance. Must remember to request it in plenty of time again! Fredbear Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Yes PSLA here too. Agree you do have to be on the ball regarding renewal, often had to chase certificate or a cover note. Quote
redjayne Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 We use the PLA Insurance too - and it is the cheapest and most comprehensive specialist insurance - and the Lawcall cover is well worth it too. We have used it for 8 years now and the increase has been about £100 (from £750 to £850)over that period which isn't bad really Quote
starsky Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Hi We got our insurance through Poundgates....the NDNA recommend them and it was almost a third of the cost in the log run x Quote
kristina Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 We also use the PSLA, I have tried shopping around but as Essex County Council are my landlord they insist on 10 million public liability and the PSLA are the only ones that will quote that!! Kris Quote
purplewednesday1 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Have you tried Crawford Davis? They are quoting very competitively for me at the moment and offer higher levels of cover than Poundgates (who we used last year) pw x Quote
Panders Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Oh and just to add they aren't always that quick at sending out renewal notices of certificates of insurance. Must remember to request it in plenty of time again! I am happy with Morton Michel, and can do it all over the net, even print off my own Certificate! Quote
hopeytg Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I am in the same position - due for renewal and have always used PLSA but seem expensive - tried Morton Michel but they are taking an age to give me a quote - is this normal ? - Happy to wait if they quote is right but wonder if it takes them this long to quote - 2 weeks now - how long does it take if you make a claim./ Quote
