I'm sure i used to have an ofsted document that listed all the sorts of records you have to keep but can't find it anywhere. Searching the government website is useless so i'm hoping one of you lovely people will know what i'm on about and either put a link on here or tell me exactly what it is called so i can google it. Thanks in advance

Pebbles - for everything else just have a read through the Statutory Framework........

Thanks Sunnyday, i have been. It was another thread on here that got me thinking, it was the list of things the inspector asks for and one item was records of behaviour, but i can't remember reading anywhere that it was statutory and i haven't ever recorded biting apart from on an accident form. Just a bit worried that i've missed something somewhere.

Well i've been through the EYFS with a fine tooth comb and can't find anything that states we need to log poor behaviour, closest was to keep a record of any physical intervention, which to me means things like having to restrain a child, so if an inspector asks, that's what i'll tell them! (and cross my fingers!!)

I have to suspect this all comes from it being a "Common Inspection Framework...not specific to Early Years. That said, the inspector seemed as confused as me on some of these logs, which was a blessing!!

Ofsted inspection handbook pages 10 and 11 list the documents an Ofsted inspector would expect to see ( just had our inspection and this is what they told us they would be looking at - not all tho, just a sample )

Thanks fimbo, yes got that list, it was the bit about records of poor behaviour that got me thinking as can't find anything else to say we have to record it or what is classed as poor behaviour. Think i'm going to have to wing it when Mrs O comes a calling!

Goodness me, if that is case and going by the behaviour of some of our children at the moment - we'd have to employ a staff member just to write these each day.
