It has been lovely hasn't it? I have just finished a couple of days at a school which had so many daffodils planted around the grounds which was beautiful. Significantly less impressive but more exciting to me is that two of the daffodils from bulbs I planted last autumn have flowered!! They are the first bulbs I have ever planted and I'm thrilled that they worked.

No particular plans for me this weekend. Enjoy grandchildren time both of you!

A couple of days where it’s been miserable but the rest has been dry and even seen a bright light in the sky for some days!  Caught a very quick (blink and you miss it) glimpse of Prince William yesterday as I was driving the past the fire station  he was visiting. Hoping for nice weather tomorrow so I can get out and clean my greenhouse. 37 days until our cruise, not that I’m counting or anything! Have a lovely weekend all.

Good morning! 'Tis Friday. I'm not working today so have made the most of it with a slower get up. Have had a good week in school. We did a couple of assessment papers - they in themselves aren't  particularly fun but I always find something to smile about in the answers given. In answer to 'Why does a slow-worm sunbathe on a stone?' one answered 'because they just want to relax'!

My lovely mum's birthday this week so I popped in to deliver a card, present and hug.

This weekend one of my nearby National Trust places is doing a 'make a posy' workshop using flowers from the garden. It's a lovely place to visit anyway so I'm going to go and then hope that I get a chance to arrange! Apart from that, just the usual weekend things.

Take care all, enjoy whatever you're up to!

Froglet- it's the things children say that keeps me in this job!

Another quietish so-so week for me.

We had our GSs birthday- and the bike did end up being ridden around the house... but at least it was 'new/clean', and nobody got their toes run over! 😂

Have to dash now- off to excercise class 😜

Good morning - 'tis Friday!

Beaten by young Froglet and louby today 🤣

'because they just want to relax' would get double points from me! ❤️

Happy birthday to your lovely mum young Froglet...

I seem to have been quite busy but not sure what I have actually achieved...

It was blowing an absolute hoolie here last night - we lost power but think everything else is still intact - phew! We haven't been up to our little field so need to do that just to make sure everything is okay up there. 🤞

Nothing planned for tomorrow

Sunday will find us at eldest son's house for a Mother's Day Sunday lunch very nice - hope my DIL's mum will be there too she is lovely so nice that we get on so well...

Next week is shaping up to be crazy busy - hey ho - sure I will manage!

Happy weekend all x

Love that answer Froglet! Making a posey sounds like a lovely activity, make sure you share a photo. We also had high winds last night, luckily the fence has still not been replaced since storm Goretti! Although concrete fence posts and gravel boards were delivered today so hopefully when the weather drys up we can make a start.  We are at my oldest sons for dinner on Sunday with my DILs family and my mum, will be nice not to be the one cooking roast for once! Will miss my baby boy though but London is too far to travel from for a day. Have a happy weekend all.

As requested! All the foliage came from the garden at Stoneywell then we got given a couple of bought carnations to give it a little colour. There are quite a few rhododendron buds in there which should open too.

Beautiful 😍  I hope you enjoyed your day x

I have just come back from our local garden centre - I have NEVER in my 45 years of living here ever seen it so busy!  As we left there was even carpark rage happening!!   It used to be so quiet and calm there 😢.

Good morning - 'tis Friday

Bit of an odd week - my poor eldest granddaughter is still being 'troubled' by Quinsy - it gets drained but the comes up again - this week it has been lanced as opposed to aspirated - awful procedure for her but hoping that this might work...they are saying now that they will perform a tonsillectomy within six weeks...

The meningitis outbreak is on our doorstep - my heart goes out to the two bereaved families 💔 let's hope that this new vaccine rollout can be extended.

That's the bad news

The good news is that I am going to Abba Voyage with three of my 'singing friends' this Sunday - I am very excited!

Hope everyone is okay?

Happy weekend all x

Sunnyday, sorry to hear about your granddaughter - I hope she recovers properly soon. My uncle (84) went to Abba Voyage for his birthday and had a great time!

I have just done a little tidy of the house so it is feeling quite calm and serene here. I’m knitting some 18th birthday socks for my nephew and contemplating eating one of this week’s scones (lemon and white chocolate).

Nothing special planned for the weekend other than working out what to do with a lot of parsnips!

Take care everyone.

Afternoon all.

Sunny day - you've reminded me that I'm supposed to be booking the Abba thingy! I shall await your verdict before I proceed 😂

Been really nice here weather wise, and It's actuallly made me feel motivated to sort the house out a bit - as you say Froglet, it makes you feel calm once you can start noticing the 'tidyness'

I quiet weekend end for us, and I hope everyone has a good one.

Curried Parsnip soup is lovely.

Parsnips also freeze well.

I do love a parsnip or three! 🤣

I do love curried parsnip soup but have eaten quite a lot of it recently. I didn’t know you could freeze them. I’ll look into that. I’m tempted by some parsnip fritter type things I found and also a parsnip cake!

Louby you will need to a get a wriggle on if you are going to book it is closing in May...

My verdict is that I loved it - the venue holds 3000 and I have never come across 3000 such happy people!

I would say that you have to love really loud music - the sort that vibrates in your chest - and that you also need to be a bit of an Abba super-fan which I am!

I would go again tomorrow and the day after if I had the chance!

Seriously cannot belive how quickly Friday arrives.....it's getting silly now lol

Weird weather here this week....Monday I played golf in a Tshirt and then Tueday 3 layers, wooly hat and wished I had more clothes to put on.  I wish Spring would make up it's mind 😠

I seemed to have lots on or nothing on at weekends and this weekend is a busy one....out Saturday night for supper and then cooking a roast at home Sunday for friends.  The Sunday friends are hoteliers so they have to be gone by 6pm if they have guests checking in late which they often do so at least I can snooze on the sofa all evening 😆

Have fun whatever you get up to and see you next week - oh no I won't it's good friday so Happy Easter - is it too early for me to say that???

Big hugs x

We really did live up to the 'four seasons in one day' stereotype this week didn't we? I finished a supply job in one school this week - it's been a longer term one and went well. Then yesterday I went down to my sister's to stay overnight with my niece while her mum had to work away. She doesn't really need looking after as such - there was ferrying to and fro dance classes, cooking tea and nagging her to go to bed mainly! We had a good chat - she is becoming such a lovely young person.

Today I've visited Baddesley Clinton which was interesting and then driven home which took at least twice as long as usual thanks to an accident. I think I might have a quick nap on the sofa.

Tomorrow I'm off up to the Lake District for a few days to stay with an old friend. We don't see each other very often at all these days but when we do it's like we've never been apart. She messaged a week ago and said I know it's short notice but my husband and kids are all away next week and I'm home alone with the animals - fancy a visit? I'm really looking forward to it.

Take care all.

PS In a parsnip update - I have included them in vegetable pancakes and made parsnip pecan and maple muffins which were very yummy!
