Froglet Posted March 6 Posted March 6 It has been lovely hasn't it? I have just finished a couple of days at a school which had so many daffodils planted around the grounds which was beautiful. Significantly less impressive but more exciting to me is that two of the daffodils from bulbs I planted last autumn have flowered!! They are the first bulbs I have ever planted and I'm thrilled that they worked. No particular plans for me this weekend. Enjoy grandchildren time both of you! 1 2 Quote
zigzag Posted March 6 Posted March 6 A couple of days where it’s been miserable but the rest has been dry and even seen a bright light in the sky for some days! Caught a very quick (blink and you miss it) glimpse of Prince William yesterday as I was driving the past the fire station he was visiting. Hoping for nice weather tomorrow so I can get out and clean my greenhouse. 37 days until our cruise, not that I’m counting or anything! Have a lovely weekend all. 2 1 Quote
Froglet Posted yesterday at 09:30 Posted yesterday at 09:30 Good morning! 'Tis Friday. I'm not working today so have made the most of it with a slower get up. Have had a good week in school. We did a couple of assessment papers - they in themselves aren't particularly fun but I always find something to smile about in the answers given. In answer to 'Why does a slow-worm sunbathe on a stone?' one answered 'because they just want to relax'! My lovely mum's birthday this week so I popped in to deliver a card, present and hug. This weekend one of my nearby National Trust places is doing a 'make a posy' workshop using flowers from the garden. It's a lovely place to visit anyway so I'm going to go and then hope that I get a chance to arrange! Apart from that, just the usual weekend things. Take care all, enjoy whatever you're up to! 2 1 Quote
louby loo Posted yesterday at 10:02 Posted yesterday at 10:02 Froglet- it's the things children say that keeps me in this job! Another quietish so-so week for me. We had our GSs birthday- and the bike did end up being ridden around the house... but at least it was 'new/clean', and nobody got their toes run over! 😂 Have to dash now- off to excercise class 😜 x 3 Quote
sunnyday Posted yesterday at 11:26 Author Posted yesterday at 11:26 Good morning - 'tis Friday! Beaten by young Froglet and louby today 🤣 'because they just want to relax' would get double points from me! ❤️ Happy birthday to your lovely mum young Froglet... I seem to have been quite busy but not sure what I have actually achieved... It was blowing an absolute hoolie here last night - we lost power but think everything else is still intact - phew! We haven't been up to our little field so need to do that just to make sure everything is okay up there. 🤞 Nothing planned for tomorrow Sunday will find us at eldest son's house for a Mother's Day Sunday lunch very nice - hope my DIL's mum will be there too she is lovely so nice that we get on so well... Next week is shaping up to be crazy busy - hey ho - sure I will manage! Happy weekend all x 1 2 Quote
zigzag Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Love that answer Froglet! Making a posey sounds like a lovely activity, make sure you share a photo. We also had high winds last night, luckily the fence has still not been replaced since storm Goretti! Although concrete fence posts and gravel boards were delivered today so hopefully when the weather drys up we can make a start. We are at my oldest sons for dinner on Sunday with my DILs family and my mum, will be nice not to be the one cooking roast for once! Will miss my baby boy though but London is too far to travel from for a day. Have a happy weekend all. 2 Quote
Froglet Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago As requested! All the foliage came from the garden at Stoneywell then we got given a couple of bought carnations to give it a little colour. There are quite a few rhododendron buds in there which should open too. 1 2 Quote

Beautiful 😍 I hope you enjoyed your day x I have just come back from our local garden centre - I have NEVER in my 45 years of living here ever seen it so busy! As we left there was even carpark rage happening!! It used to be so quiet and calm there 😢. 1 Quote
