This!!!! 2 Quote
zigzag Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Louby Lou, I am the least social person going. Honestly I avoid social events like the plague! Put me in a crowd or somewhere having to make small talk and I panic! As Sunnyday said, lockdown was right up my street. The great thing about cruising is you can do as much or as little of something as you want. You just pick and choose and please yourself. 1 1 Quote
Froglet Posted February 1 Posted February 1 I love the fact that so far we are a group of people who don't 'do crowds'. I have just finished a lovely family weekend but am tired! My funny moment from this weekend was on arriving at my parents house this morning my youngest nephew (2 1/2) was just coming down the stairs with the light up magnifying glass my mum uses for reading (I hope she got it back - he was much taken with it). He saw me and said 'Aunty Froglet got dressy, Aunty Froglet go walkies?) Cue much laughter as his mum translated this to Aunty Froglet's got a dress on, she looks nice, is she going out?! 1 1 1 Quote
zigzag Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Isn’t it funny that we all seem to be similar in that respect! Think we will have to get those balaclavas embroidered with a club logo. Maybe the not peopley people club! 1 1 Quote
louby loo Posted February 1 Posted February 1 ...... The 'Friday Anti-social Social Club' !!!!! 😂 1 2 Quote
sunnyday Posted Monday at 16:14 Author Posted Monday at 16:14 I have so enjoyed reading this chat - what a bunch of weirdos we are 🤦♀️🤣 love the idea of a 'club logo' for our balaclavas! 🤣 3 Quote
louby loo Posted Tuesday at 19:40 Posted Tuesday at 19:40 .........if only I had some craft materials I could try designing a logo 🤔, I know! I'd best go and buy some suitable bits then!!! 😀😂 2 1 Quote

zigzag Posted Friday at 08:02 Posted Friday at 08:02 Morning all. It’s dodgy driving with the state of the roads, more pot hole than road in some places. Also dodgy walking the dogs, so much mud and surface water everywhere you go. We have had some lovely dry spells this week though with some sunshine at times. This photo was taken on my dog walk yesterday and I sent it to mum, who is up in Kent at the moment in the rain. Within an hour of the photo it had poured down and I was soaking! (That’s Karma for gloating) 1 1 Quote
sunnyday Posted Friday at 12:01 Author Posted Friday at 12:01 Good morning - 'tis Friday zigzag - another lovely photo It has been another week of getting things in place for my lovely MIL's funeral which is to be held next Thursday, think we are 'done' - I am sighing a huge sigh of relief - but reminding myself not to be too pleased with myself just yet - time for that after the service and reception if all has gone well... When the Funeral Director visited us on Wednesday, after completing mounds of arrangements/paperwork - she said "and what about you two, would you like to take out plans for yourselves"? Flippin' heck - chose your moment - I just replied, very quietly "no not right now thank you". Anyway, enough already... Hope the weekend is kind to all x 1 Quote
Froglet Posted Friday at 13:03 Posted Friday at 13:03 Sunnyday - glad you're getting things in place. Nothing like timing your comments hey?! Zigzag - beautiful photo. I had a friend from school round for tea last night. I made individual sticky toffee puddings and the smallest I could make the recipe still made 5 puddings so if anyone wants to pop up for leftovers you'd be welcome. I've put the fire on early today because it's so miserable. I have finished a book today - The Glassmaker by Tracy Chevalier. I always really enjoy her books. I think my next read is going to be a cosy crime from the library. Talking of crafts - has anyone come across emmasflowergarden on instagram - I am very tempted to have a go at making one of her flower fairies! Nothing in particular planned for the weekend or next week. I'm feeling a little out of sorts at the moment so I think I might just get cosy and hide for a few days. 1 Quote

Get the custard ready - I am on my way young Froglet! Hope you soon feel better - but whilst I am with you I really need somewhere to hide too - perhaps we could hide together... Now...let me think - shall I do the ironing or should I look up emmasflowergarden! 🤣 Edited Friday at 13:47 by sunnyday 1 Quote
Froglet Posted Friday at 14:03 Posted Friday at 14:03 You're welcome to hide here! Fire's on, kettle's on, pudding's warming. I quite like ironing so look up emmasflowergarden and bring the ironing with you! 1 Quote

I know what I'm doing this afternnon then! Sunnday will be thinking of you Thursday and hope all goes as planned. I do have to be honest and say I do have sort of 'jokey' conversations about my wishes, and I do hope they get followed through. Froglet- fingerscrossed there's still one sticky pudding left? I've had an impromtu GD visit this morning as she had a bad tummy- something eaten rather than a bug. Therefore, this morning have had done spellings, reading, handwriting practice, a bit of maths/telling the time- an arts and crafts session, then ending with a game of scrabble (junior!). She did give me a yoga demonstration.... at that point a realised her tummy was fine 😂 Hope eveyone has a good weekend, hopefully not too wet. I've stopped looking at the weather forcast! x 2 Quote

Oh me too - sometimes I think I would like a 'huge fuss' 🤣 and have chosen my music 'Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me' the Elton John and George Michael version and 'Days' the Kirsty MacColl version...but at other times I think - no 'click and collect' would be best 🤣 It was just the Funeral Director's timing that I didn't like! I would happily buy them for you.... my only possible problem would be is that I may become too 'attached' to your items- then i would only be able to let you 'look, touch and handle' your items before I put them safetly away with the rest of my stash! I only really need some wooden beads for heads, and then some silk threads for body/arms etc. I mean I guess at a pinch I could use some of the threads that came with the embroidery set I bought last week 🙄😂 1 1 Quote
Froglet Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago You already have pipecleaners?! I thought I did but I'm not sure where so may have to get some more just in case... I did find myself researching appropriate yarn to crochet little hats for them. Definitely need wooden beads and cotton yarn for the arms - in a variety of colours in case I decide to make lots of different types! 😂 I mean just a few things although I may also need to get a couple of new notebooks to document the making process and write stories involving the fairies in. 1 1 Quote
sunnyday Posted 15 hours ago Author Posted 15 hours ago Notebooks are a must - I will be most disappointed in you if you do not buy them 🤣 1 1 Quote

To be fair I do have a craft obsessed granddaughter - therefore I do have a slight advantage with basics such as pipecleaners. Preety sure the last lot I bought were from somewhere like poundland? ..... However I guess I may need to source natural coloured ones? louby loo Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Quick add, just found some pink pipecleaners on amazon, I think I'd prefer more 'skin tone' but might order so I can experiment. Quote
