Froglet Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Hello all, Just wanted to pop in to say Merry Christmas Eve! Apologies for not being around recently - have had a few challenges to be managing. Right now though I am enjoying my usual Christmas Eve preparations - bread is rising in the kitchen, I'm listening to A Christmas Carol/watching It's a Wonderful Life (depending on whether I'm doing a sitting down or standing up task, or am in the kitchen) and I'm all ready for my Christmas tree decorating tradition at 3pm. I have a multitude of craft projects to work on over the break but have also just received a load of yarn to make a new blanket. This is an easy project and I'm down at my sisters for a few days with the rest of the family so I'm thinking I'll take this one with me - everything else involves counting and there will be lots of interruptions! I know that whilst Christmas is joyful and special it can also be difficult in many different ways. Remember to take care, be kind to yourself and give yourself the gift of time to be you! With love to you all - a very special group of friends! Merry Christmas, Froglet. 3 1 Quote

Mouseketeer Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Well it’s here, so here’s wishing all my forum friends a lovely Christmas Day whatever you’re doing, just finished wrapping the last bits that I always tell myself I won’t leave this late (but always do 🙄) 1 1 Quote
louby loo Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Well, I thinks it's Friday 🤔😂 Hope everyone had a good, or peaceful Christmas. 😊 cx 3 Quote
sunnyday Posted December 27, 2024 Author Posted December 27, 2024 louby beat me to it 🤣 I have only just realised that it is Friday 🤦♀️ As louby said - I do hope that all went well... We have had a lovely couple of days and have been thoroughly spoiled by our sons and daughters-in law. Now have our gorgeous little Sprocker granddog for a week - I do love the way she sees this as her second home and just settles instantly ❤️ 3 Quote
Froglet Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Plans changed here as various family members have been very poorly. In between times though all went well, have had some lovely dog walks, eaten far too much and am enjoying some relaxing candle lit crochet filled evenings! 1 Quote

It's funny you should say that- as personally I know more poorly people at present than duing the whole of the pandemic! Andy is currenlty on his second lot of antibiotics for a chest infection, ... my daughter's MIL is in hospital (ambulance Christmas day) with some kind of infection, and lots of other friends, family and neighbours all ill! So many meet-ups have been cancelled. 1 Quote
Froglet Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 I hope your poorly people are recovering soon! I have a it of a cough but that's nothing unusual for me and am hoping it stays that way. We've had lots of poorliness at school too. I think my sister is beginning to feel better... 1 Quote

Although complete confusion reigns as the collection which should have been on Christmas day was brought forward to the Monday instead of being postponed. Many people have just left them out hopefully since Monday this week! The tension is almost palpable... 1 1 Quote

sunnyday Posted January 3 Author Posted January 3 Good morning - 'tis Friday Goodness it's very cold today - brrrrr Looking forward to getting a bit of 'normality' back in my life - but know that I am lucky that doesn't including working! Good luck to those returning to work for Spring term, hope it gets off to a good start. Have always wondered why it's 'spring term' and not 'winter'... Still have little granddog here - she will be going home tomorrow - hoping her family can beat the snow that is forecast for up country. Take care all x Quote
Froglet Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Thank you! Happy Friday. It is freezing here too but at the same time I’m enjoying seeing the bright clear skies that come with it. The interminable greyness before Christmas was getting to me. I’m spending the day in a whirlwind of planning and prep ready for next week as my plan is to enjoy my last completely school free weekend for a while. I’m also making a list of craft projects both half finished and not started at all - I may be some time… 1 Quote
louby loo Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Hi All! Nothing much happening here today, although I have offered to help prepare food for the GDs 5th birthday party tomorrow... where did those 5 years go? 😮 Very cold here, and hoping we can escape the snow this weekend. ❄️❄️❄️ 2 Quote
Mouseketeer Posted January 5 Posted January 5 A little late but wishing everyone a happy & healthy 2025. Hope the new term starts well for those back tomorrow (☹️) 2 Quote
sunnyday Posted Friday at 09:40 Author Posted Friday at 09:40 Good morning - 'tis Friday How is everyone? By 'eck it is so flippin' cold - not sure what else I expect for January - but I really, really don't like it - brrrr - we didn't get much snow but what we did get is lingering on. This week seems to have flown by and the coming week looks to be busy too - but no complaints, I will take it as it comes... Have two youngest grandchildren tomorrow which should be fun! Take care all - keep warm x Quote
SueFinanceManager Posted Friday at 10:01 Posted Friday at 10:01 Morning all Cold old January here in Lewes. The snow on Wednesday came thick and fast about 4pm and any grit that had been on the roads had been washed away by rain and it caused chaos on the roads round here 😱 The roads are now clear but the snow is laying on the downs as it has been so cold since and so the downs look very pretty. I have a quiet weekend planned thank goodness....still trying to get over having had a house full for 2 weeks over the christmas holidays lol Take care all of you and keep warm Sue x 2 Quote
louby loo Posted Friday at 14:27 Posted Friday at 14:27 Almost forgot it was Friday! Cold here, bu the only snow we've had was 1am last Saturday night- and that was mostly gone by the morning. No plans for anything but a lazy weekend! 😊 1 Quote

Gezabel Posted Monday at 20:52 Posted Monday at 20:52 oh dearie dearie me virtually half way through January and i haven't popped in to say Happy New Year (slap on tee wrists for me) I love all the grandchildren quotes - they are all such amazing little peole. My Granddaughter now 6 came for the day recently and we settle down to watch Sleeping Beauty. "Grandad can i sti with you?" 'Of course you can sweetheart." Then suddenly it was 'I have the best idea i could sit on your shoulder and be your parrot"🤣 So they sat on the sofa with her perched up on his shoulder! Hope you all enjoyed your Christmas. I have a big birthday coming up - a bit scary as it has a 7 in it!!!!! I was hoping it would be low key and maybe a family dinner somewherre. Nope! I had the most amazing suprrist at Christmas - it was supposed to be a secret until April but they were worried about letting the cat out fo the bag so decided to tell me. My wonderful boys have clubbed together and hired a house in Cornwall (somewhere i have never been but always wanted to go) All 13 of us are going and i am so excited i can't wait. Relly glad they told me so i can look forward to it. The house looks amazing - its huge, well needs to be as we needed 8 bedrooms!!. If any of you are about or know that part of the world i only know it is in Watergate Bay. Any idea of what to do would be great - plans forwater boarding padlel boarding cycle hire and a few other things. OK so enough waffle from me i hope 2025 has started off well for all of you x 2 1 Quote
