tish501 Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Hi we are very rural 30 mins from any large town...and finding it hard to get a Safegurading refresher that isnt 45 mins away...at night and not until Mar 16 thru our LEA.Has anyone done their safeguarding online and if so was it valid....would appreciate any answers....TIA Quote
diesel10 Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 If you are PLA members you can do the educare safeguarding online for free. I've just done the safer recruitment and prevent training this afternoon. They are user friendly and you can download and print the certificate afterwards. Quote
tish501 Posted October 29, 2015 Author Posted October 29, 2015 Thanks diesel 10...and membership costs...worth to join for future advice courses etc ?thanks Quote
sunnyday Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I - as 'designated person' always attend 'face to face' training as offered by Local safeguarding Board.........but staff have completed online training with NSPCC and this has been deemed acceptable by Ofsted 1 Quote
Guest Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Like sunnyday - our designated person attends face to face training - all other staff access on line refreshers! Quote
AliceinWonderland Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I send staff on face to face courses if it's their first time but otherwise do refreshers online, we used 'highspeed training' last time and it is a recognised course, have also used them for food hygiene and health and safety courses. Although not free like like the PLA (not a member at present) they were cheaper than our LA. 2 Quote
