blondie
hi, just wondered whether if a setting gets requires improvement do they get support from their local authority or is it just the settings that get inadequate? setting close to us got r.i. and i wondered what that might involve? lsp
It's probably yet another one of those things that differs from county to county??? Level of support if any.
eyfs1966
In my area its RI and Inadequate. The rest of us get absolutely zilch unless we want to pay££££££££'s
mundia
It would depend on your LA, as some are very trimmed now, some gone altogether and some still very buoyant. There is no statutory requirement to provide anything free of charge, the requirement is 'secure information advice and training' and they can make a 'reasonable' charge. In reality most probably still do offer something to RI or I, or new providers, free of charge but they don't have to.
Rea
We had a RI earlier this year. Support here is by way of at least 2 EY 'advisors' from the City, combing through everything, whether it was mentioned by HMI or not! At the moment our Safeguarding policy is being combed though although that was deemed good by HMI. We're being told to go on training for Behaviour management, even though the complaint by HMI was that a new child wasnt sitting still at mat time and we'd already chatted to mom about SEN. Also there are no Behaviour management training days available. They seem to ignore anything we say that isnt on their agenda! Justifying their own jobs one might say! On the plus side, we dont have to pay for this support
hali
Depends on LA but as an RI or INAD yes you should get support. :1b
