We have been given some money to spend in the nursery and we know we are lacking in multicultural things, being a rural setting doesn't help. What things are worth buying and are used on a regular basis?

Thanks for the help :-)

Picture books, music and 'people' with different skin tones. Dressing up clothes and instruments from different cultures are nice, but may not have much educational value to the children. We use pieces of fabric to dress up in and have instruments which one could label as multicultural, but we have them for their colour and patterns or sound and quality.

Role play utensils used for cooking a variety of foods from around the world. Posters and books to share and explore together. A larder full of wonderful ingredients to cook with.

Music from around the world, to dance sing and listen to.:)

Watch out if buying multi cultural dressing up clothes on Amazon. We bought some Chinese outfits and they are absolutely tiny! They were for 3 and 4 year olds and width ways, wouldn't even fit babies!
