we use just basil seed soaked in water - turns into something resembling frogspawn. haven't tried it with cornflour - sounds good!

Feeling extremely foolish! I just googled basil seeds and saw they are for planting. Ho hum.

YOu want hairy basil seeds and you can get them on Amazon - dont know if the hairy bit makes a huge difference to the way it turns out.

I buy mine in the Asian corner shop - called Tukmaria. 89p for 100g.

I tried it with the cornflour - brilliant, thankyou.

My seeds arrived from Amazon today so thank you for this idea. I think Amazon must be wondering why they have suddenly sold so many!!

I had a look at your link Gruffalo2 - they look like the ones I use. Hope you have fun!

Only 10 packs left on Amazon!!

Oh no!

have another go - we usually put the water in when the children are around 'cos they swell quickly and it's good for 'noticing changes'

I'd better put a note on my frogspawn just in case!

Why would you put them to soak overnight? They need the moisture from the flour and water mixture to make the correct mixture. I don't think you'd get the texture right if the seeds were presoaked

Get ready to play! Follow the recipe on the picture above. You can keep it for a few days - it dries out a bit like gloop does, so just add more water to make it gloopy again.
