Cheers Manor Whoops will try again! basil seed slime gloop.docx that's the one. thanks very much indeed. my nursery children loved this so much. i coloured it flourescent green and called it alien slime to entice the boys - success x
Guest Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 recipe looks brilliant - we have space as our 'theme' right now so will be trying it tomorrow -thank you!! :1b :1b :1b
Cait Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 This is it. Have fun! It doesn't matter if more water is added as the children play as it gets absorbed 1
MegaMum Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Where do you buy Basil Seeds from? Just looked in Tesco and they didn't have any.
MegaMum Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Feeling extremely foolish! I just googled basil seeds and saw they are for planting. Ho hum.
Panders Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Feeling extremely foolish! I just googled basil seeds and saw they are for planting. Ho hum. YOu want hairy basil seeds and you can get them on Amazon - dont know if the hairy bit makes a huge difference to the way it turns out.
Cait Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Yes, the seeds of the hairy basil plant. The others don't work the same. I got ours on Amazon
Guest Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I buy mine in the Asian corner shop - called Tukmaria. 89p for 100g. I tried it with the cornflour - brilliant, thankyou.
Guest Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 My seeds arrived from Amazon today so thank you for this idea. I think Amazon must be wondering why they have suddenly sold so many!!
MegaMum Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Which ones n amazon did you buy? There are so many to choose from.
Guest Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 BASIL SEEDS 200g |FREE UK DELIVERY| TUKMARIA SABJA SUBJA SUBZA DESSERT FALOODA SEEDS HERBAL REMEDY AIDS DIGESTION Sold by Jalpur Millers Online I hope they are the right ones - haven't tried using them yet!
Guest Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I had a look at your link Gruffalo2 - they look like the ones I use. Hope you have fun! Only 10 packs left on Amazon!!
RedDragon Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 I put them to soak overnight in nursery and the cleaner threw them out aghhh!
Guest Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Oh no! have another go - we usually put the water in when the children are around 'cos they swell quickly and it's good for 'noticing changes' I'd better put a note on my frogspawn just in case!
Cait Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Why would you put them to soak overnight? They need the moisture from the flour and water mixture to make the correct mixture. I don't think you'd get the texture right if the seeds were presoaked
Cait Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Get ready to play! Follow the recipe on the picture above. You can keep it for a few days - it dries out a bit like gloop does, so just add more water to make it gloopy again. 1
RedDragon Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 oh wow fantastic,I thought you had to soak them:)
