RedDragon
Just wondering whether to add them to Tapestry for them to view?
Foreveryoung
We add to tapestry and do a paper copy too so we cover all bases (think we may finish with paper copy soon though) then all observations that relate to NS have a code in title so we can see the cycle happening and relate to it when needed. Cait
Yes, Tapestry is a good place to do it. I also used to have parents in at least once a term to look at progress and talk about next steps
playgroup1
On Tapestry, we add them to the end of an observation if it prompts them. We also add them to the end of the termly summary that parents see on Tapestry. We also tell parents what their next steps are when they have been decided by their key person. We use the phrase "Next steps" so parents know what we are talking about and so that when questioned by the Ofsted Inspector, " Do you know your child's next steps? there is a reasonable chance they will say YES! RedDragon
Do you add it as a new observation to parents just saying this is your child's next steps for this term?
Emmawill
We add ours as an observation on tapestry and have also now decided that at our termly keyworker/parent meeting that we will produce one of the reports using the notes boxes under each are of learning to put next steps and bullet points for discussion.
Foreveryoung
We do Title: new next step Obs: write next step and idea what can do at home to support child Then once competed we do another observation Title: next step completed Obs: write what NS was short statement. then select DM statement if applicable and select secure as we do refinements too. This way we can see the cycle and trace back where needed. X
SueFinanceManager
Hi You can set it so parents can see their child's next steps and next observations that Tapestry suggests. To do this: Control panel.......manage settings.....Analysis......tick display next obs and next steps to relatives. Sue
MarshaD
Interesting... Like the idea of adding NS as an observation. May do this and comment upon progress in the reply box. I find that Tapestry does offer rather a large number of NS, might be a bit overwhelming?
Mouseketeer
I was removing our next step ob from journal, evaluating how it went/was going and then adding back to journal (rather than just editing ob) hoping the parent received another notification to see added information but I'm not sure they do ..does anyone know if this happens ?
