Woodies123 Posted March 26, 2013 Share Posted March 26, 2013 Hi I am in my second year of the foundation degree, thinking of questions for my action research topic, which will lead to the special project shortly! ahhh... I want to do something relating to gender role-play, or princess and superhero play maybe incorporating parents perception of gendered play? Any ideas, opinions or help would be much appreciated! Stargrower Posted March 26, 2013 Share Posted March 26, 2013 My dissertation was titled 'Does Gender Matter?' so I know there's a LOT of information out there! Two books I'd recommend are Superheroes in the Doll Corner by Vivian Paley and We Don't Play with Guns Here by Penny Holland. There is a lot of academic writing that can be found online too on the subject of gender roles in early years, gender and children's play etc etc. Good luck!
