Marion Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008
Early years learning chief Ruth Pimentel quits

Guest Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 very interesting - thanks for posting this Marion
Marion Posted November 8, 2008 Author Posted November 8, 2008 odd especially as she is due to speak at a conference "EYFS six months on" at the beginning of next year.
Guest Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 speechless maybe because of the late hour and I cannot think why she should resign unless she feels she's 'done her bit' by getting the EYFS off the ground, so to speak. Peggy
JacquieL Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 I await events with an open mind...at the moment. I am just a bit concerned though.
Guest Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Crickey!!! Remember Lesley Staggs resigned 'cos of the DfES. I wonder if the same applies to Ruth and if so what on earth can we expect next?
Marion Posted November 9, 2008 Author Posted November 9, 2008 Jim Rose's intrim report on EYFS was due on the 31st Oct so it is late~ wonder if there is a connection
Guest lucyevans Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Presumably Helen Moylett, Ruth's Deputy must know about this already... but I was at the NCMA Conference yesterday where Helen mentioned working together with Ruth on future EYFS projects. Maybe the paperwork got too much for her Lucy
Guest Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Was just going to say exactly the same as you Helen Wonder if we were in the same presentation were you in the am or pm session? Sorry everyone never thought to ask if anyone going along we could have met up Did you enjoy yourself ?
Guest Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Sorry Lucy I ve called you Helen ----------I must be tired!!!!!!!!!
Guest Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Have you seen tha advert for her job in the TES? http://www.tes.co.uk/JobDetailssilver.aspx...t=3&UK=true
Cait Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 The job is to work for Capita? Not even a Civil Servant? Don't think I'll bother applying then Hahahahahahah
HappyMaz Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 You up for it Wolfie? You'd be brilliant! Gets my vote!
Guest Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 May be lots of money but I'd think it is a 'no win' situation position. Wrong for doing........ and wrong for not doing.............. Peggy
HappyMaz Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 I thought you liked wolfie! Yes, a bit of a poisoned chalice, isn't it? And am I alone in feeling slightly let down? Obviously I don't know why she has resigned, but how odd that it should happen less than three months after it became statutory. I'd apply but obviously working in pre-school I can't afford the drop in salary...
hali Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 course you would M and what a fantastic job you would do!
Guest Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 Not for all the money ......! They seemed to have omitted some bullet points under the 'You will be able to'...... title - sell your soul - sell colleagues and children in general down the river - be able to promote anything with a straight face Def a poisoned chalice - can't think of any one who would want to take it on!
