If you do a forum search for 'Exemplar SEF' - you will find loads of info. + some very generous people have uploaded their completed SEFs Sunnyday Ah quick edit to say ........ they may be only pre-school........I don't know how 'different' the format is! Some parts are easier to write than others, for example outcomes you will need your profile data for the current year (just published) and also previous years to see where there are trends. If you haven't yet done this, this is a good place to start. It is important that you are realistic in your judgments, and also that you can justify them. For example if you say the quality of provision is 'good', why is it/ What makes it good? If you refer to some of the guidance documents on the page linked to above, there are some descriptions of what good, outstanding etc might look like. They are not specific to EYFS but give you that general idea. Out of interest are there any members here who have recently completed or about to complete their school SEF so that you can share ideas about how you made your judgements? The first primary school in our LA to be done under the new framework too. The new SEF was relativley easy to complete, just decide roughly what category your setting falls into for each section (Outstanding, Good, Satisfactory) and then work though the OFSTED criteria for that judgement and that section - use each sentence as a subheading for your SEF comments and then state what you do to meet that statement.
