I don't remember getting stressed doing the 11+ exam. I think the pressure is all the hype that goes with SATs beforehand. We knew roughly when 11+ was, but there was no 'teaching for the test' we just went into the hall and got on with them. A maths on the morning, and english in the afternoon and a science the next morning and that was it. Mind you, our parents were probably stressed - there was a lot riding on it for us, whether we got into the grammar school or went to the comprehensive.

Oh it's happened to us all! They are unpredictable little souls and that's why we love them too! So, he won't do that again, but you probably will - albeit not in quite the same way. He's had it all our married life! It was unpaid stuf with the Brownies and Guides initially - at least now there's a salary coming in to offset it all. Acually he's very understanding, comes down and changes lightbulbs (very high stepladder job) and has cut the grass when I've asked. Mends doorknobs, puts mice out, just about anything I ask him to do. Every now and then I stuff a bunch of crisp tenners in his hand (when I do the grocery refund) and he enjoys that bit!

Why do people always want dough to 'keep'? We use ours for a very short time, after they've all sneezed into it, wiped their noses with their hands and continued playing with it, dropped bits on the floor and reincorporated it..... yuk! Ours is chucked out after a week max!

Well I don't see why not - they are going to find out it's yukky fairly quickly. If you are worried make it without the salt - like pastry dough
