Postman Pat and Rosie and Jim author John Cunliffe has died

This is very sad news. My eldest son (now 19) was obsessed with Rosie and Jim  I remember when he was playing a friends house, aged about three, and it came to be time to go home and he asked if he could stay for a bath - this was quite an odd request but we agreed that he could. When it came to bath time it became clear why he was so keen - his friend had this bath toy

My dad’s name is Jim and for many years he had a narrow boat anyone who travelled on it with him was known as Rosie. As for Po’ Pat as he was known in our house - we used to sing along to the theme tune insisting it said ‘lettuce through your door’!

We met a lovely couple when we were on holiday a couple of years ago....their names were Rosie and Jim 

My eldest son had cats called Rosie and Jim

Sad news today

Goodness me, now Geoffrey from Rainbow has died.   So sad.  My boys were real Rainbow fans and Rod, Jane and Freddy fans.

My boys too - he was only 74
