Well, I think CH must have picked up on all my failed attempts yesterday - as this morning I have had an email with 'step-by-step' instructions! 😂

I have decided not to do a 'list' today, as  I'm really liked the 'timetable' idea instead.  I just need to do something to keep the brain more focused- but still actually using it to remember to do things without visual prompts! 😂

My timetables aren't detailed - I just split the day into 1/2 or 1 hour chunks and allocate a task or two to that slot. I've found that planning to do the same thing for more than 2 hours inevitably fails but I give my permission to stop after the allocated time even if the task isn't completely finished and I make sure that I plan in 'down time' too. So the other day I had something like 11 - 1.00 sort spare room, 1.00 - 2.00 lunch/reading, 3.00 - 4.00 ironing/tidy living room etc. Sometimes if I'm really procrastinating I set my timer for 15 minutes and just do a task for that long.

Mainly because I'm not really on Facebook and the whole idea intimidates me!! 😆

I just accidentally discovered an old episode of Bake Off where they were making Viennese whirls - now I want to bake something...

Ooooh timetable you say - love that idea

South east water are at it again - bottled water was delivered to every house in the village yesterday 🤦‍♀️honestly while they are spending money on that they could fix some of the many, many leaks here...

Water was 'off' overnight but back on this morning...

Hey ho - surprised that it has held out this long really!

Ah thanks - we are fine - off overnight but back on this morning - will see what happens next - we have developed a really odd approach to this, just resignation i suppose...

I had my hair cut this morning, my lovely hairdresser works from her home in the village - she has had water leak outside her house for at least six weeks - when I went in I said "see you've still got your water feature then" - she replied "they have been out and given it a poke, several times, but that's as far as it goes" - beggars belief really

Are your 'Kent family' having problems where they are?

OK, I just want to put this out there - I salute all you here that have raised boys!

I mean, i know they are different from working with them - but my, at home it's relentless 😂

I've had the GS for a sleep over and I'm now nervous wreck, he's a lovely little thing, no behaiour issues or anything....but a 'why walk when you can run'  kind of child, and everything is so noisy car/trains have to crash all the time etc. Everything is just so full on 😜

On the plus side though, once in bed he takes about 3 minutes to fall alseep bless him 😘 ... unlike his much more chilled out sister, who would spend all night chatting if she could!

Good morning!

I feel like I need a drum roll here... My spare room is empty and clean! Admittedly much of the 'stuff' is in the bath because I have a very small house and there was nowhere else to put it! I can't use it at the moment as the hot tap's not working - a plumber is coming in a week and a half so that's my motivation to get it emptied!

I'm popping over to mum and dad's to borrow a camp bed and will then set it up to make a lovely bedroom for my 9 year old niece who is coming to stay for the first time on Sunday. I've done various bits of browsing about things to do together and some crochet will definitely be on the agenda as I taught her how when I stayed last autumn and she's going to do some baking as we're going to invite granny and grandpa for tea and she's doing pudding!

Once her visit is over I'm going to continue with sorting and maybe even start decorating the spare room - or at the very least visit B&Q!

Whoop! Well done young Froglet!

I do hope that you and your niece have a lovely time together - I know you will...

In other news - have just order 500 litres of oil - have been holding off for as long as possible hoping that the situation in Middle East might change/improve (not just for my sake onviously)

500 litres will cost me £437.43 - oh my actual goodness - that's a lot of money - hey ho could be worse!

Sunnyday, I’m not sure if they are having problems with the water in their area. I know they have been on a hosepipe ban for quite a while. They are in chelsfield and sevonoaks.  Our ban started today! No wonder with the amount of visitors currently in Cornwall, we just don’t have capacity to deal with the extra. Glad I filled my water butt with the hose yesterday!  We need to order oil before winter but trying to hold off as long as we can but before the price goes up even more! It’s a fine line.
Froglet so glad you have your room cleared, but it did make me giggle that your bath is now full. Hope you have a lovely time with your niece.
Louby Lou I salute anyone that has raised girls! The thought of that gives me the chills!
