Does anyone tell their parents how little we get from the government for each child? and has this made any difference?

I did think about it a couple of years ago and asked my PLA advisor (don't have one now!) what she thought and she advised me not to - to be honest not sure what her answer was now, but can remember thinking 'whatever' at the time!

For me it's just over £2.20 a session less per child I'm not sure the parents would think anything of that, I might put it on my next newsletter.

Last year I had a conversion with a parent who complained about the £2 lunch club fee. I pointed out that mum didn't have to pay and suggested maybe she brought her own lunch along too and took the child out for a picnic lunch in the park , then returned him for the afternoon.

We had a lengthy conversion about little we get for the other 6 hours (am+pm sessions). Mum then sort of 'clicked' and said that was why another setting near us managed to charge and extra £35 per week... She returned at the end of the session with a check for lunch club fees.......... and now (the child has left for school) she sends in lots of her very good condition outgrown games, puzzles and toys :1b :1b :1b

Some parents are nice.. :1b

Mom took the child out and placed her in the nursery attached to the school next door. . Pretty certain its what she wanted to do all along, she just wanted a reason for disrupting her childs last couple of terms that she could blame on someone else. Friend works in the school and she's heard very loud and prolonged screaming, such a shame for the child but a huge relief for our staff!
