RustyFox Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Hi there, Has anyone been inspected recently? We just had an early years inspection but still no interest in our breakfast club or OOSC! The inspector asked when we were last inspected, I told her never and she made a note! Any thoughts?
Rafa Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Ahh wait until Sept17 when the 30 hours 'free' kicks in.....they'll be rolling in then Rustyfox! Hope your inspection went well for you
tish501 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Three visits from our local LEA over the past days...first 30 Nov Audit of funding (left list of changes to be made to our register, fees sheets, and more ....NOT DOING 4 dec back again to see what she couldnt figure out on 30 Nov.... then today...2 suits from LEA just to look around the setting....more like a mini Ofsted the way they were looking at everything......and tonight an email from them that i cant open...so it will have to wait until tomorrow.....even then should not work at weekends but have to... 1

Gosh we never see anyone from anywhere these days - unless of course we want to pay for the privilege!
Stargrower Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Yes, same thumperrabbit. We never get a visit from anyone. I ran a breakfast and out of school club 'tacked on' to our full daycare nursery for ten years and it was never inspected once. We stopped offering it last year. Ofsted were fully aware of it and I drew it to the inspectors attention each time we had an early years inspection, but nothing!
RustyFox Posted December 12, 2015 Author Posted December 12, 2015 Our breakfast and OOSC is just for school age children, as you say Stargrower it's a tack on to our early years provision. Inspectors are never interested so I was surprised when she asked when we were last inspected. It's been running for 9 years now and not a sniff of interest until this week!
Rafa Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Sounds like, the LEA's are getting twitchy! wonder why? We had email to say they're coming to us in Jan to 'moderate' two year checks. better be all their moderating, as like tish, I'm not prepared to change the way i operate MY busisness. Thought the LA inspections were defunct!
tish501 Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 After fretting about the visit Friday,he told us that we should have had an email from them to say about the visit....but checked back to Sep...no email...but they also went to 2/3 other settings before us... just a walk through the setting and answering our many questions about the funding etc.... Also our Special Needs Lady came for 3 hrs thu morning but that was to organise the transition for our lovely little girls to school next September, but during her visit a call from the LEA to her to check the details we had rung thru after our audit....so they are all in it together,....felt like a pre -Ofsted visit....xx

Goodness, an LEA with enough staff to make 3 separate visits? Blimey, visits from LEA are rarer than hen's teeth where I am....
sunnyday Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 better be all their moderating,    Hmmm - haven't heard anything from our LA ..........long may it last   1
Jackie H Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Do you have to have separate rooms for younger and older children in holiday club? Or can they all be in together. Thanks
