bano4994 Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 can you become a manager of a pre-school as soon as you are qualified if you worked in the setting for 2 years before and during the course or is it 2 years post qualification experience?? Quote
thumperrabbit Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 I did, but then after advertising for quite a long time, they were desperate!! :-) 1 Quote
blondie Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 A lot of places would ask for the experience of working as a manager for two years - i suppose it depends on the experience of the person - have they completed any of the responsibilities / roles of the lead? lots of jobs done by a lead (not that the staff think we do anything lol) . 1 Quote
Guest Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 3.23. In group settings, the manager must hold at least a full and relevant level 3 qualification and at least half of all other staff must hold at least a full and relevant evel 2 qualification. The manager should have at least two years’ experience ofworking in an early years setting, or have at least two years’ other suitable experience. The provider must ensure there is a named deputy who, in their judgement, is capable and qualified to take charge in the manager’s absence. l Quote
Mouseketeer Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 How would you have 2 years experience as a manager if no one ever gave you a managers job because you don't already have 2 years experience as a manager ;p 3 Quote
Inge Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 How would you have 2 years experience as a manager if no one ever gave you a managers job because you don't already have 2 years experience as a manager ;p It doesn't say 2 years as a manager, just 2 years early years experience, like it doesn't say post qualification , by doing the qualification you are getting the experience.. but it may not take 2 years to get it.. not very clear.. Think it would depend on the individual, the type of experience they have in a setting etc.. and take the decision for that person. 1 Quote
Mouseketeer Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 No ...was implying it would be stupid if it meant that. Quote
Carol Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 I would take it as "The manager should have at least two years’ experience of working in an early years setting" Quote
