Guest
Hi, I am struggling to think of a Christmas present for my granddaughter's childminder. Any ideas? What has been the best present you ever received? Scottiedog
Cait
It's hard to suggest without knowing her, but I received a really nice pen and notebook from one of the Mums. A really pretty necklace from Next. I also got a really lovely hamper of gluten free goodies. I got a lovely knitting wool holder from Sally Walkinshaw Ceramics. (I think she's called) All really lovely, but as I say, I don't really know what kind of things you are looking for. Does she have any interesting hobbies and interests? https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/TheHappyBirder Edited December 9, 2014 by Cait
zigzag
Many, many years ago when I worked in a day nursery, I was given a frammed painting of myself that a four year old child had done. It was such a special and personal present. In fact my son did one for his reception teacher when he was in school.
sunnyday
We use 'wow vouchers' - sometime ago one of my mums had a super sparkly wow on canvas made for me it read "to Xxxxx for having the pre-school in the world" - just lovely :1b

Guest
We had a school leaver who made us a framed scrabble board with letters glued on like a game in progress, and all the words were words that the child and mum associated with nursery. Oh yes I've had similar - it was my name + pre-school teacher and a word for each letter printed on a rather lovely bag........I laughed because there is a 'y' in my name and the word she had chosen was 'youthful' - I'm 103 so that was a bit of a stretch
