finleysmaid Posted November 9, 2014 Author Posted November 9, 2014 its a form produced by ofsted for trustees/committee to fill in to tell them about their role etc (it is virtually a copy of the info they put on the BDS...complete pain and not really worth it in my opinion...but im sure ofsted have their reasons!) Guest Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 that's why I don't know what it is as I have no committee:) thank you Quote
Mouseketeer Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 I have a new cm who had a dbs done for a school only 2 months ago, am I right in thinking it depends of whether it was registered with update service if we do/don't need to do another ? Ta Quote
woodlands1997 Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 It's for managers on non domestic and any staff on domestic premises too as we have to do them and we don't have a committee either :-) If they've subscribed then you can check online otherwise I would do a new one! 1 Quote
Mouseketeer Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 Even more confused now, person had one done for a job 2 months ago (not child related), then also took up a post in a school last month who accepted her recent dbs, she herself hasn't enrolled for update service, could the employer who the dbs check was done for have done this ? But from the ofsted dbs info on accepting previous DBS's it states that they have to have been carried out under the 'child's workforce' so should the school have accepted it ? Think we'll just start again....its all a b****y farce ...and a nice little earner as no one can work out if they can/ can't accept previous ones 1 Quote
woodlands1997 Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 They can't enrol her, only she can! It's their lookout so if anything happened they would be answerable as to why they accepted it. I would just do a new one and now I make staff pay x 1 Quote
finleysmaid Posted November 12, 2014 Author Posted November 12, 2014 how to get a dbs for forum.docxok good news my first DBS is all complete for the trustees (same as committee) so i am going to post my how to guide and then as we all get more info i will update so that we should have an accurate guide. This has taken two weeks from start to end which doesn't appear too bad! 2 Quote
Rea Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Thanks Finleysmaid, I've only yesterday discovered there are two paths to the DBS application, I chose the wrong one for our committee/volunteers! Quote
finleysmaid Posted November 13, 2014 Author Posted November 13, 2014 well so far my method is working well! (that'll put the kibosh on it!) had another one come through too...only the trustee forgot to tell me and i'm not being informed by capita. Quote
korkycat Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 That's brilliant finleysmaid. Thanks. korkycat Quote
woodlands1997 Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 You don't get informed anymore, I had to do one through capita/ ofsted then I have had to post my certificate to Ofsted as I got a letter from them saying they no longer get told - ridiculous!!! Quote
finleysmaid Posted November 13, 2014 Author Posted November 13, 2014 Both applicants said it was easy following the instructions above! (big head swelling as we speak!) so please give it a go and tell me what happens! 1 Quote
lynned55 Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Thanks Finleysmaid. I have filed for future reference. It is almost the path i followed except my committee all started off with EY2's and then followed the link from there. However it really was the EY2's that proved the most difficult one to do! Quote
