Panders Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Intriguing title, however, just a boring question really - cant get the old laptop to find "new content" when I press on the button - is it signal problems my end maybe, or is it something to do with the Forum and I need to speak to The Fixer!? louby loo Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I had this for about 2 months, new content sent me to the home page........ (I assumed the cat had done something to keyboard whilst sleeping on it)............. then one day hey-presto it was back again. I still can't do quotes on the laptop though. Quote
Rea Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 My phone never finds new content straight away, always on the 2nd attempt Quote
Pimms o'clock? Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 (edited) I haven't been able to get 'new content' for ages now and also can't do quotes, it's a real pain in the butt and makes me  !! Edited September 18, 2014 by Pimms o'clock? Quote
Froglet Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 When I had this problem a while ago Steve suggested it may mean the cache needed to be cleared. There's a link to instructions as to how in this thread (post 26). Worked for me. I also had problems with not being able to quote and that seemed to get sorted when I changed the browser I was using. Hope that helps. Quote
Panders Posted September 18, 2014 Author Posted September 18, 2014 Hi Froglet, that made sense, but alas didn't work for me! Quote
thumperrabbit Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 I can use 'new content' on laptop and iPad - but can't on my Kindle Fire it takes me back to the forum home page. Quote
Inge Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 I have new content saved as a bookmark on my browser and that always gets there first time... although not had any issues with it. Not had any issues with quotes but have found when adding a link it vanishes when I hit post , more than once this has happened.. assumed it was my lappy as it is old but just keeps on going.. Quote
Panders Posted September 19, 2014 Author Posted September 19, 2014 Well according to mine, there has been no new content for a year! I've emptied the cache twice so it can't be that! Quote
louby loo Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 I have new content saved as a bookmark on my browser and that always gets there first time... although not had any issues with it. That's what I used to do, then one day "pooff" it went. It started working agin last week though- and I hadn't knowingly changed anything... However I'm guessing the laptop may have its own updating ? ... Which I can only assume sorted the 'new content' issues. Quote
