Guest
Hi Not posted for aaaages so hoping you all had a good summer. I've been asked if a child (who left us in July) can attend preschool for the first week back as he is not starting primary school until the 8th. Is this allowed? I realise we can't get any funding but if the parent is willing to pay for his sessions are there any legal reasons why we can't let him have a place for that week? Anyone know. It is a bit of a pain but I feel that we would be helping the parent out with childcare if we can do it.
Stargrower
We do this nearly every year, either full days before they start school, or afternoons for children who go to a school who do mornings only for the first two weeks (we are full daycare). I don't think there's any reason why you can't. We just invoice the parent for whatever hours they do.
mrsbat
Just check what age you are insured up to (we are sessional and insured up to age 5) If the child has turned 5 and you are like us and only insured up to age 5 you would need to speak to your insurance
Guest
Thanks, that's good news. Sounds like it is quite common but I've never come across it before. You've been a big help and will definitely check the insurance too.
Carol
We also do this and state in our policy that we take children up to and including 5 yrs old. Just check your insurance covers you.
Cait
We have done this in the past too, it helps with additional income in that first term!
