mrsbat Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 ....to act as a key person? We are advertising for a pre-school assistant and we need someone who can come straight in and work as a key person. I have had an applicant who sounds just lovely, she is very experienced but has no qualification - does it state anywhere that you need to be qualified? She is eager to qualify as soon as possible......... Quote
woodlands1997 Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Nope it's fine! We have an unqualified member of staff that is a key person x Quote
louby loo Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 They can even be better than some of the qualified!! 1 Quote
klc106 Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 I would have loved to have had some key children when I was training. It was hard getting to grips with it when I became qualified and suddenly had key children. :1b Quote
mrsbat Posted May 28, 2014 Author Posted May 28, 2014 Thanks all, I have to say this lady sounds lovely - of course we will interview everyone - but I needed to be clear as to what the 'regulations' and 'requirements' are Quote
Stargrower Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 As far as I am aware, you need to follow the EYFS guidance on how many qualified staff you need and the level of qualification. This does not state that a key person needs to be qualified, so I think it's fine! Quote
