Fun Day

We have a day where we do children.s sports day including tombola, raffle, cake sale and refreshments, plus any other "game" or stall that is likely to raise funds for Pre-school. This year we are very short of parents willing to spend a little time helping out but they are slowly offering help don't know how many we will have. The staff are finding it hard work trying to run everything themselves!!!

Can anyone think of any ideas for table top games or in fact any ideas for running a stall. Over the years we have tried lots of different things (name the teddy, guess weight of cake, how many balloons in the car, etc, etc) but this year I was hoping someone would come up with new ideas. Can you help with any please??

There's a game using a couple of packs of playing cards. One set face up on the table with a small prize on, a rubber, sweet or whatever, with some mars bars on the kings. Children pay 10p a go and pick a card from the pack in your hand and win whatever is on the matching card

A teddy tombola always goes down well, no outlay and a prize every time x

Pots of dry sand with a prize in them.. we used money /coins.. and they paid to sieve a pot.. the children loved the idea of sieving for treasure.. and winning a coin.. the fact that it was often less than paid did not matter! some prizes were the larger denominations..and some had a token in them to win a small prize... easy to do and could be never ending as you just keep refilling the pots... we had plastic cups, but could be any container..using lots of different sizes makes it interesting..

we have done a 'treasure hunt' -sheet of paper with picture clues, they find each location ( from the picture) each location has a letter, they find all the letters and make them into a word, bring the sheet back and claim their prize !

it only took 1 person to man the stall - a little more prep beforehand tho.

we did ours at Easter and charged £1 - the winner had an easter egg

but you can chrage whatever you want -depending on the value of the prize.

Ok here goes, what's in the box, basically cupboard boxes stuck together in a line paint black or bin bag covers. Put an assortment of nice and not so nice items to feel and guess, bowl of water need to rinse hands, splat the rat, piece of plastic piping a baseball bat(plastic, rat shape made out of pair of knees highs stuffed). Hook the duck, play your cards right, bean bag toss, penalty shoot out, keepy uppies. Coconut shy, plant stall, tattoos, face painting, soft toy tombola, general tombola, toy stall second hand clean toys, cake stall, sweet stall, raffle, nail art, make a grass head, bbq, lunch boxes for the little ones, teas and coffees, as well as outside craft stalls.

Trike track, with our Pre-school bikes, tyres borrowed to make a track, no outlay children love it, we make little driving licences too.

Wow when you write it down it sounds a lot doesn't it.

We have a separate sports day at our local park with parent participation too.

Good luck with all your fundraising efforts.
