Guest
FABULOUS!!!! There's a teacher who's realised.... "I've come to the frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element in the classroom. It is MY person approach that creates the climate. It is my daily mood that makes the weather. As a teacher I possess a tremendous power to make a child's life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration. I can humiliate or humour, hurt or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis will be escalated or de-escalated and a child humanized or de-humanized." Long may she have the best interest of G at the heart of all she does and appreciate having a parent who cares, communicates and appreciates a bit of support. I suspect that you're going to have a much more enjoyable holiday now, Upsy?! Nona
Upsy Daisy
I love that little piece of prose Nona. Where did it come from? May I copy it? Yes I think I will enjoy our break more now. Thank you for all of the lovely supportive comments everyone has made. I'm going to print off this whole thread to keep. Now dare I ask you all to keep your fingers crossed that the statutory assessment is successful from my point of view and G is offered a place in the Autism unit attached to a local middle school for Sept 2012? We should know by Christmas or early in the new year. If that happens I shall feel that I can relax a little.
