Verona Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Hi Today I wanted to amend my SEF online but can't seem to get to the right place. I modified it in November of last year and wanted to update it again - can someone guide me from start to finish please? Thank Sue J
HoneyPancakes Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 I was asking someone about this the other day and they said that if I called OFSTED they would talk me through it. Other than that I am watching your post with interest. Cheers, Honey
Guest Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 https://online.ofsted.gov.uk/onlineofsted/Default.aspx Put the above in to your browser and it takes you to the sign in page. But if you cannot open your sef to make adjustments and are due a visit this could be because it has been downloaded.
Verona Posted May 30, 2011 Author Posted May 30, 2011 Thanks for your replies. Earlier, I managed to find my SEF and have now amended and submitted it - thanks. Sue J

lashes2508 Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 is the sef for preschool being abolished as it is for primary schools ???
HappyMaz Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 is the sef for preschool being abolished as it is for primary schools ??? Last I heard it was being retained. We have several LA advisory bods on here who may have the latest info though. Hopefully one will be along shortly...
catma Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 The school SEF form was statutory - self evaluation hasn't gone away, just the requirement to use the Ofsted format. Is the EYs SEF format statutory or do you just need to show self evaluation like schools and CCs do?? I don't think it ever was a requirement to use their format............ Cx
HappyMaz Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 For early years the SEF format was never statutory, but Ofsted would expect settings to be reflecting on their practice and developing an action plan. So now I guess there's more parity between schools and pre-school settings in terms of what is statutory. Although am I right in thinking that the school SEF is much more detailed?

Ok thanks for that , will check it out as a Governor at a school i knew is was going but now as a supervisor at a preschool just wanted to know if it was necessary alongside other Self evalution
lashes2508 Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 apologies for my spelling - first week in my new role ...........
catma Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Although am I right in thinking that the school SEF is much more detailed? Only in that it would match the ofsted framework for a section 5 inspection......it will be shorter after christmas due to the framework changing. It covers everyone from eyfs to Ks2 though. Cx
rammy Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 I spoke with someone at Ofsted a few weeks ago and he told me there was a problem with their systems and I would not be able to access it, although it may be fixed now!
