emmajess Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 Last year I did a big push on improving our non-fiction resources - this summer I've turned to poetry! Just wondered if anyone had any particular favourites?
Cait Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 personally? now we are six for Preschool, anything Julia donaldson or michael rosen
Panders Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 Like Cait, we love Julia Donaldson stuff, Michael Rosen is great, we also like Nick Sharratt, particularly Dont Put your finger in the Jelly Nelly which is an amusing quick read.
Cait Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 commotion in the ocean has lots of different rhymes about different sea creatures with lovely illustrations too
Guest Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 We have been sharing some silly poems particularly 'On the ning nang nong' which is a nonsense poem I think by Spike Milligan (?), the children find it hilarious!
Cait Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Roald Dahl did some good stuff too which children love too
sunnyday Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 commotion in the ocean has lots of different rhymes about different sea creatures with lovely illustrations too Yes we love that too...and 'Bumpus, Jumpus Dinosaurumpus'!
Cait Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 is that 'Everybody's doing the dinosaur romp' or is that 'romp in the swamp'?
sunnyday Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Roald Dahl did some good stuff too which children love too My grandaughter (aged 7) is 'very into' Roald Dahl, as was her daddy at the same age......she says to me when I read to her - "are you going to do the voices nana"!!! Trouble with that is....I have to try to remember which voice I have used for which character!
