Last year I did a big push on improving our non-fiction resources - this summer I've turned to poetry! Just wondered if anyone had any particular favourites?

Like Cait, we love Julia Donaldson stuff, Michael Rosen is great, we also like Nick Sharratt, particularly Dont Put your finger in the Jelly Nelly which is an amusing quick read.

We have been sharing some silly poems particularly 'On the ning nang nong' which is a nonsense poem I think by Spike Milligan (?), the children find it hilarious!

Roald Dahl did some good stuff too which children love too

My grandaughter (aged 7) is 'very into' Roald Dahl, as was her daddy at the same age......she says to me when I read to her - "are you going to do the voices nana"!!! :o Trouble with that is....I have to try to remember which voice I have used for which character!
