zigzag
Help. We are a pre-school on a school site, OFSTED inspecting the school today but we have not been done this week or today. My previous experience is that groups are usually done just before the school or at the same time. Am I right or has anybody had a differnet experience. We are so ready and were convinced it would be today and just want it over. I have also notified OFSTED that I am away on Friday and that has been passed onto the inspection team but am now really worried they will turn up on that day anyway. Really do not want the inspection to happen without me. Anyone got any ideas or had previous experience of this situation that they could advise me. Sorry to ramble but having a panic moment. Upsy Daisy
I don't work in a school so I don't know about the etiquette. Is there some reason why you can't go and ask a member of the inspection team?
Guest
generally ofsted inspectors usually pop their heads in only to ask whether you are maintaining good relationship within the school, but that was only for the purpose and benefit of the primary school's ofsted report. If you are independant away from the school then ofsted chooses to inspect you seperately even though you are on school land and that could be anytime if you are due for one. I heard at one stage that they was going to inspect both at the same time, even though your preschool runs independently away from the school but then it was changed to be done seperatley. dublinbay
We are also a pre-school working independently on a school site. The last time we were inspected we were done with the school. We were told that this would be the case in future. Hard to know sometimes.......different people tell you different things. Good luck with yours anyway and hopefully they'll wait for you to be present.
zigzag
Well the OFSTED inspector arrived this morning and we had just a one morning inspection rather than two(did'nt know they only did one morning inspections) so I can go to London and watch Mamma mia and really relax now. Have to say he was a great bloke, very thourough but very nice. We got outstandings and goods so we are delighted.
