Guest
I would be very grateful for any ideas on songs, rhymes, dances and stories based on the theme of the 'Seaside' for my assembly. Thank you everyone xx

Panders
This Little Puffin has a few songs you could use I liked Slippery Sam was a slippery seal and a slippery seal was he; he slithered and slid to the sandy shore Then he slipped back into the sea There is also a counting song Four little fishes swimming out to sea, One met a shark!.. and then there were three etc. and another which begins Seagull, seagull, sit on the shore A lot of the songs seem to be about the sea, rather than sea side, but there are quite a few. Happy to put the words on here if you don't have access to the book.

sunnyday
The Big Ship sails on the alley alley oh?! Needless to say I can supply words if needed - as could, I'm sure my older friend Cait! (What has happened to my grammar!) Edited May 10, 2009 by sunnyday
Cait
There's a few songs you can adapt - we do it all the time. Things like 5 currant buns we do as 5 red apples in a grocer's shop, round and juicy with a sticker on the top (when we smack our foreheads). The wheels on the bus is another one So I'm sure they are adaptable here 5 little crabs in the summer sun scuttle, scuttle, scuttle as they run and run along came a girl with a bucket one day took one to the waves and let him 'safe' away The crabs on the shore go scuttle, scuttle, scuttle scuttle, scuttle, scuttle scuttle, scuttle, scuttle The crabs on the shore go scuttle, scuttle, scuttle all day long
