Milk Crates

Recommended Posts

Just wondering where people managed to get hold of milk crates? I want to use them in the outside area for imaginative play but can't find them anywhere! Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Hmm, that's a tough one, you don't really see them nowadays unless you have a glass bottle milkman nearby. Hmm, ebay?

One of our staff just phoned the dairy that deliver to school and they were happy to give us a quite a few. I noticed recently that we seemed to have more crates than I remembered. I found out that our caretaker's been occasionally bringing them to the Unit rather than taking them to the gate!

The best thing I've done recently is found out that one of our office staff can bring in tyres and with the crates and the 5 tyres she brought in we've made tanks, car, lorries tractors etc etc!

I just asked my milkman and the next day six were sitting outside my house. We also have tyres nad this week the children have been in their bus on trips out made from crates and tyres.

Ooh you lucky things. Don't think we have a milkman any more, we have a very small corner shop in the village and they seem to supply everyone's milk in the 1 or 2 litre bottles

Or how about a local supermarket? They may use crates for things other than milk?

I got lots from my milkman and he left me a few every week. I did give him a tip at the end but he didn't expect it.

Was it a tip on how to keep his bottles nice and shiny? :oxD

My milkman doesn't need to worry - I always put my milk bottles in the dishwasher! I think that probably makes me a little bit sad. :( He's worth it though, I love my milkman! :(

I love my milkman! xD

It has been a pleasure to hear your confession. Does Mr Wolfie know about this? :o

Oh yes, he knows - he's quite used to us having a hug when he comes for the milk money! xD And it's all the more surprising because the milkman is as passionate about West Brom as I am about Wolves! :o It's a friendship against all odds! :(

I've been known to stop my car and pick them up from the side of the road!!!

Ill have to hunt down a freindly milkman, cannt say Ive seen one lately they appear to be an endangered species round by me

....as for the tyres I went to the local tyre place and they were more than happy to give us some and told us that we could come back and have as many as we want I think they are happy to get rid of them

I was eyeing up the bread crates outside the supermarket but I didnt have the car with me at the time and I dont think the bus driver would of appreciated me getting on the bus with bread crates
