hali Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Hi, Should an updated Disiplinery & Grievience Procedure for staff not be read/passed by staff/commitee and signed by chair just as any othe policy?????
Guest Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Yes. (short and to the point - am off to another meeting in a minute!)
Guest Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 I think it should be passed by committee, signed by chair, not sure if staff have a say in policies, although it would be good practice to have staff's (parents and childrens where possible) input when reviewing policies. Any changes should be given to staff, read and signed 'as read' by staff as they need to follow the procedures. Peggy
HappyMaz Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Definitely adopted by committee and signed off by Chair. If the policy forms part of the employee's terms and conditions then the employer must re-negotiate changes to the terms and conditions with employees. So in this case if your contract states that you must abide by the grievance and complaints procedure then I would expect employees to be consulted. Maz
