  1. Seriously don't know what season it is here...cold this morning, sunny now but windy and the wind is chilly!
  2. Not listening...not listening...not listening.....
  3. I am letting use of the C word slide as it was used in the context of time not the festivities 😆ðŸĪĢ
  4. Hi Here at the FSF we produce a monthly newsletter to keep you updated with news from the sector, details about new site content and the odd conversation that you might like to join in with. We don't send out daily emails or even weekly ones so we wondered, if you have checked the box not to receive news from us because you thought you might be deluged with emails you might like to reconsider and subscribe again. It is easy to do this, from your name on the top menu bar select the drop down list (1). Select "Account Settings" (2) then select Notification Settings (3). Then from the list of options select 'Newsletter' and check the box to start receiving our monthly newsletters If you would like to see the back catalogue find them all here
  5. Not all our users log into the forum every day so here is a quick guide how to keep notified of content that you might be especially interested in and don't want to miss. Following a forum area If you wish to be notified every time a new topic is started in a particular forum area that interests you just go to the forum area and click into it, for example 'Learning differences – SEND' in the screenshot below and (1) click follow and then (2) decide how you wished to be notified of new topics started in the forum area. Following a particular topic If you spot a particular topic that interests you then you can follow the specific topic and be notified when new replies are made, the screen shot below shows you how: The tips above are a great way to keep up to date with new content that you are interested in while you are away doing other things Have you set up your notification preferences? If not here is how: From your name on the top menu bar select the drop down list (1). Select "Account Settings" (2) then select Notification Settings (3). You can select different levels of notifications for different areas of the website, I have shown the 'Followed Content' area just as an example. Select the area, in this case 'Followed Content' (1) then select how often you wish to be notified and how you wish to be notified (2). If you select option 1 for your notifications then you will see notifications showing on the bell icon in the top menu bar when you visit the site or you can choose email notifications (2) and if you change your mind you can stop them from here: And finally Don't miss out on new from the forum:
  6. Hi We would like this forum to be a safe space free of adverts and spam and so we would welcome your help to report any content you feel contradicts that aim. It is easy to report content to the admin team for us to investigate, this is how: When the next pop up appears you can indicate why the post is not suitable in your view and then submit the report:
  7. The potential issues related to schools not having enough staff as they too can not afford to live in the area is also a concern. Once they move away they may not be inclined to go back especially if they have settled their own families somewhere else â˜đïļ
  8. Hi Sunnyday Feeling a bit short changed as it is only a 2 day weekend after 2 weeks of bank holidays ðŸĪĢ
  9. HI Just reading this article London is becoming a city without children At a glance: The birth rate in London has fallen by 17% in nine years Families are being squeezed out as house prices and rent become unaffordable for many As a result schools are closing in their droves as they struggle to fill classrooms The government says it is up to local authorities "to balance the supply and demand of school places" Are any of you based in London and seeing your numbers falling? It must be very worrying for all concerned, both the staff but also the families that wish to remain at a school under the threat of closure. Are you in a nursery setting that is also facing closure due to lack of numbers? Would love to hear your thoughts on the subject if you are experiencing a drop in numbers, not just in London. Sue
  10. Happy birthday Cait .... enjoy the sunshine and I hope you are spoilt rotten today 🍰🎈🎂💗

I know they say as you get older time goes quicker but at the current rate I must be about 105 lol Hope the sun is shining where you are and you can all get out for some fresh air (been very fresh here in Sussex....brrrr) over the weekend. Sue x

  19. Hi Mundia How wonderful to hear from you....I too am still here starting as a member of the forum 2003 and then from 2007 working part-time in the afternoons with Steve trying to grow the forum. I remember the events you recall Mundia with quizzes etc. One of my favourite things was the FSF bunny Rosie that used to get posted from setting to setting until someone lost her or maybe kidnapped her lol but she did go missing never to be found again 😕 The forum has always been a warm and welcoming place and I have only ever really found it a challenge when a small group (you know who you are) start talking about Christmas in September ðŸĪĢðŸĪŠðŸ˜† Sue x
  20. Just a quick message to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a restful and safe holidays. I hope the above will not offend anyone but I saw it and thought it would be highly amusing if queenie did say this on the 25th....she would be voicing what we are all thinking ðŸĪĢðŸĪĢ Hopefully next year I will get to spend a bit more time on the forum with you lovely lot âĪïļ Big hugs, Sue
  21. Thanks for the clarification Finleysmaid. I am going to move this conversation to Practice and Provision: General issues as this forum area is all about using this forum.
  22. Hi DebBrad Can I just make sure I understand your question so I can try and help. Do you mean content from the Dept of Education for all things Early Years or are you talking about content from a local authority? Which portal are you talking about? Best wishes, Sue
  23. Happy Birthday Cait
