Easter Service

You might find this site useful although it is more for KS1/2 etc.:

I like the new beginnings/or new life type themes. We have done all sorts in the past, eggs, spring, , or what they think is the most beautiful thing, which is creation linked really, but we usually include something from the Easter Story.

Hali, I am going to try the ideas in the Care for the Family website: http://www.careforthefamily.org.uk/service..._menu.asp?cat=6

I have downloaded a powerpoint presentation and suggested storyline and think that in our setting I might run a one-off parent/toddler type session open to the wider community, not just our pre-school.

We also use the book Deedee's Easter Surprise which has a format which younger children can understand.

Hope this helps.

I really liked the Out of the Ark songs but I think they are quite hard for my 2 - 5 year olds. I've remembered we have one simple easter song which works well:

God's not dead - No! (punch air on 'No!')

(c c c shout)

He is alive!

(e e dedc)

God's not dead - No! (punch air on 'No!')

(d d d shout)

He is alive!

(e e dedc)

God's not dead - No! (punch air on 'No!')

(c c c shout)

I can feel it in my hands (clap clap)

(c c e e e d edc)

feel it in my feet (stamp stamp)

(e e e d edc)

feel it in my heart (bang chest twice)

(e e e d edc)

feel it all over me - whoosh! (do big jump in air - hands up)

(e e f e d c)

The music notes are in brackets underneath the words (or should be)!

Another one! I'm on a roll now:

To the tune of 12345, once I caught a fish alive

1,2,3, 4,5 I know Jesus is alive,

6,7,8,9,10, and He’s coming back again.

Why did he go away

And come alive on Easter Day?

That’s what He had to do

To bring God close to me and you.

Hope these work for you!

I was going to say the Spring Chicken song always one of my favourites and I have wonderfully clear images of when all the children who were in reception performing this. Obviously made an impact on me as I can remember them
