Children In Need; The Fsf Longest Thread....2

Recommended Posts

Posted

Ok so here it is... In case you missed them last night I will repeat the instructions.

The idea is to run the FSF longest thread...limerick style.. so please all pop along and contribute. The last one we did made 200 posts which as far as i know remains to this day, the longest thread on the FSF. Can we beat that?

You can pledge, if you wish,to children in need in 3 ways.

1. a donation per line or post

2. A donation per verse. (Im going to pledge 25p per verse)

3. A flat donation to children in need (Ill bung in an extra tenna if we exceed the last longest thread..now there's a challenge)

The all important place to donate

donate here

Ill leave that one for you to decide yourself. I must stress though that you don't have to donate to Children in need in order to take part in the limerick. The idea is to have a bit of fun like many other people will be around the country. If we manage to raise some money at the same time, then brilliant!!

Ok I think most of us know the basic style of a limerick. The next post will start the limerick with the first verse penned by me and my hubby. If you wish you can contribute a whole verse. If you're a little on the shy side, you can put in one line.. this is likely to make it funnier of course. If you happen to add the last line in a verse, please indicate this with a :D and the words end of verse so that the next poster knows they have to start a new one. You can join in as often as you like.. we want length on this.

Oh and please keep it clean!!! (not that I'm suggesting anyone would do otherwise of course)

Ok are you ready then...well here goes...

The Foundation Stage Forum is after

Okay, a tenner to Pudsey...

Well, here goes for Children in Need

Let's hope that we will succeed

In trying to be funny

And making some money

For such a good cause, indeed :D

Good luck everyone!

There was a young bear that was yellow

Give some money for me,

And then you will see,

Children smiling and happy and mellow.

One day our little bear Callum

Went to a setting in Balham.

The children shared snack

And then sent him back

From Balham to Dallam went Callum.

I'm adding this again as the site combined my two posts although they were several minutes apart.

Heres mine!

today, on TV, is Children in need

and we here are sure to succeed

in raising some money

for Pudsey, not honey,

to provide for those children indeed!

One day our Callum met Rosie

And gave her a lovely red posie,

Said,' It's you that I love'

And he gave her a hug.

And now they are happy and cosy.

There is a young bear called Pudsey,

Who wanted childrens lives to be more cushdy,

He made his plea known

& worked to the bone'

So three big cheers for Pudsey!!

There is a bear whom is bright & yellow,

Whoes work has spread to many a fellow.

It's children in need,

There once was a bear soft and brown

Who wanted to go out on the town

But the poor bear was bare

With no clothes in its lair

So it stole Nichola's bridal gown

End of verse :D

We have a Bear called Jay

He stay's at Three Bears all day

He goes home at weekends

with all of his friends

Then comes back to see us and play.

He gets his friends to write in his book

To tell about all of his visit.

Then Jay comes back to class

To tell and to laugh

Then he's off to push his limits.

On this day every year Pudsey Bear

Tries to help lots of kids everywhere

By doing things funny

And donating some money

We can all show how much that we care!

In Nursery today we had fun

Even though it was rain and not sun

We had such a laugh

All the children and staff

Brought their teddies to show everyone!

The teddies were dressed up all smart

And everyone helped to take part

Our bears looked so funny

We raised lots of money

For this good cause we have made a start!

Mundia had a bear she called Moon

Who secretly quite liked to croon

But he left X Factor in tears

When Simon Cowell did sneer

"You sang like a first class buffoon!"

Posted (edited)

But Moon had a top ten hit

Even though Simon said he was ****

So it just goes to show

If you give it a go

Anyone can do their little bit!!!

(apologies for swearing-just in fun)
