Tapestry

offline children

Hi,

We have a number of children whose parents do not want an online Learning journal. It is very time consuming operating two systems so my headteacher wondered if there is any way we could add observations but not have these online so there is no risk of anyone accessing the journals online.

Thanks

Hi there,

I'm afraid an 'offline' version of Tapestry is not available as a reasonable wifi connection is always required to add/update observations. We have had discussions about potentially allowing an 'offline' version which allows staff to add observations without an internet connection (i.e. when they are outdoors/out of reach from a wifi connection) and then upload them when a connection is available - however Tapestry will always be 'online'.

We take safeguarding very seriously here, and as Tapestry accounts contain data relating to children, we try to encourage staff/relatives to keep their logins as secure as possible. This means, in part, using passwords that are not easy to guess or the same as on the other websites you log into. More information about setting a password policy for Tapestry can be found at this tutorial:)
