Morton Michel customer? Ever had to claim?

Our building and a fair amount of our contents were damaged as a result of a leak. If you are with Morton Michel, have you ever had to claim and if so, how did you find the process?

We have used them for around 15 years, but this is our first claim.

Yes, a customer, but never had to claim, BUT, please come back on and let us know how it all turns out MagicStar, it's good to know this kind of stuff. Hope you are up and running and sorted really quickly

Not a customer of theirs...................but we had a burst water pipe/leak a while back and it took ages to sort, because the assessor who was sent out LOST all our paperwork. We thought it was simply taking a long time because we lost so much stuff, and only knew something was up when the insurer phones us to say they assumed we had dropped our claim as they hadn't heard from us!! You can imagine the expletives I used to suggest that no, we hadn't dropped the claim. It was sorted out pretty quickly after that ( they sacked the assessor) but it took about 9 months from start to finish. I'm sure most claims are sorted out much more quickly and with much less hassle. Good luck :)

Yes customer for two years

Yes - two claims

Yes - one of them for a leak and all the resultant damage to internal floors/doors and walls.

Brilliant service both times, no claim form just a phone call, then I had to send an email with photos of damage and estimates for work and got approval to go ahead the next day and payment in advance. Staff really pleasant and helpful.

Same yes as customer. No have not had to claim but did have an issue to do with my lease that took a while to sort out but the people at MM were great explaining exactly what the problem was and I was pleased they stood their ground. Unlike my landlord.

Thank you all for your replies. This is very helpful.

Panders, yes of course, I definitely will report back here.

The loss adjuster that came out was very helpful. We will see how things go.
